Question about Dishwashers

Dishwasher not cleaning

Our Maytag dishwasher is not cleaning.  It is running normally and the soap and settings have not changed.  Silverware is dirty and cups are not cleaned - on both top and bottom racks

Re: Dishwasher not cleaning

Make sure the screen is clear and not obstructed, also check the wash arms for the same.does the pump sound any different?are you getting enough water in it.when you start a cycle open it up and make sure there is plenty of water,do this a couple of times so you can get a good idea of what should be in there.the drain solenoid may have failed and your losing water.

modern day dishwasher use less water than the older ones so you have to use less soap a lot less only 2 tablespoons but you also have to use rinse aid with the very little soap the cloudy residue on the dishes is left over soap

I have just moved into a resale home{two years old} and the bosch dishwasher has a terrible odor what do i do?

Works for me, empty the dishwasher of any dishes, silverware, pot or pans, get (2) jars of "Tang" orange drink. Use (1) jar to fill the soap dispenser and poor the rest into the bottom of the dishwasher.
Run the dishwasher through a normal wash cycle with no heat/dryer time.
Run a second time if necessary. The orange juice acid will dissolve the build up in the dishwasher and rinse it away. It also smells good when your done.
For regular maintenance, repeat once every 3 months or so. It will not harm the dishwasher and will keep the interior components fresh and clean.
Good luck.

I believe this can happen if the unit is still engaged in a cleaning mode previously set. Try to close it and run a cleaning mode and then cancel that mode.

Soap film on every thing..I'm using a rinse agent in every cycle

sounds like you may be using to much detergent.. put your dishwasher on a quick rinse cycle and see if it suds up.. if it does put a table spoon of vegtable oil in the dishwasher and continue running it. after that cut down the detergent and use it like normal.

Maytag jetclean eq plus dishwasher: soap problem

This could be due to 2 problems: not enough water or water is not being pumped hard enough through the system. The 'not enough water' is easy to check - open the door in the middle of a wash cycle. If you have enough water (about 1" or more) then that is probably ok. The 'not pumping hard enough' could be as simple as plugged up filters and holes in the spray arms. Remove the racks and disassemble the lower spray arm and the filter assembly all the way down past the screen. Clean the arm holes, throughly clean the screen, clean everything. Pull the top spray arm and throughly clean the spray holes there. Put it all together and run a cycle. You should see a pronounced increase in the sound of the water spraying around. This should fix your problem - it did for me.
