Canon Ower Shot A70 - not working.

The camera will turn on but the display is dark when in the phot taking mod. I can bring up the menu and the wording will display. When I take a photo it is dark as if the shutter doesn't open. How ever it appears to when the button is depressed. I did a reset but without any change. Thanks, Bob
