The drum cleaning blade is located in the drum unit and is very much like a windshield wiper blade on your car and even has the same function. It cleans the drum of toner residue after each copy is made. A positive test to see if the drum blade is worn is to make two or three copies of an original and if the streaks are worse on the second copy and worse still on the third copy, then you can be fairly certain that your drum blade is bad and needs changing. Not a simple task, probably best left to a technician. You can do some serious damage to the drum if you're not careful. If the test that I described indicated that the drum blade isn't bad, then the next most common problem is a worn heat roller in the fuser. Not an easy thing to replace either. You can check this by making a copy and stop the machine just as the copy just reaches the exit rollers of the machine. After removing the copy, you can see that part of the copy has been through the fuser, the part of the machine that gets hot, and part has not reached the fuser. If the lines are on the copy that has passed through the fuser, but aren't there on the part of the copy that hasn't reached the fuser, then you can be sure that the lines are caused by the fuser roller.

Most likely it is the drum cleaning blade. One indicator of the drum cleaning blade going bad is that the black lines will get worse as you run multiple copies. So if you make 10 copies for example, the last copy out will be streaked worse than the first copy out. Drum cleanig blades are about $30 bucks plus whatever your local service guy charges for a svc call.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
Sounds like a worn drum unit primarily the cleaning blade on the drum is failing. If you don't change it out soon the dirt escaping from the drum and dirty copies will foul-out you fixing unit, = more $$.
Hello sir;The streak line from printing also should be from copy, because the line come from imaging unit, check the meter count if close to or over 50,000 then replace drum and drum blade, it will take care the problem.
The brother printer you need to replace imaging unit( drum unit).
check your drum unit. The toner cartridge mounts into the drum which can be permanently charged causing a constant streak to occur.
Solution: Remove the toner and drum unit. Clean them off with a non-fuzzy non-rough cloth or paper towel. Pay particular attention to where the streaks are in relation to the toner cartridge and drum. If you clean it off and you still get streaks check whether they transfer from the toner or just from the drum.
There may be a way to discharge the drum, otherwise you need a new drum.
Dear sir; Streak line, I have two things come out from my mind I need to clear; no. 1 do you make copy through ADF and got streaking line? if your answer is "yes" would you to make another copy direct from glass plateform, if copy coming out same problem that's means you need to replace drum cleaning blade, if copy coming out perfect then you need to clean the glass especial the narrow piece if they have, try it out and let me know, good luck!
HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY!!!
why in the world are you replaceing the brush? In 25 years of copiers, i,ve never had to replce a brush. If its streaking on the copy, its the blade thats bad. only reason to replace a brush is if its broke, cause of a clog. just vacumm it out.
