We keep getting a brow film around the edge of the hot tub.

That is normally iron in your water. It often happens in cottages that are beside lakes and have bore wells. In your case with a hot tub, it is a residue that comes off the people using it!

Body Chemicals - This is the most common cause of film in hot tubs. It's caused by deodorants, hair products, perfumes, and lotions. ... Poor Water Chemistry - Water with improper pH levels and bad calcium levels can cause buildup and lead to film floating on the water or collecting on the sides of the hot tub.Apr 7, 2016

Hi all New to the Hot Tub World New to the forum. ... The reason the film is brown is iron in the water absorbs into it. .... to realize that foam downs are bandaid fixes and don't do anything to eliminate the cause of the foam.

Morgan hot tub

I found the drain snakes very helpful to unclog a drain even it is a bathtub. Dran snake found both hand cranked and power cranked. for home use, the hand crank is enough but for professional plumbing power cranked drank snake is best.

Heater

Water heater can be added to any incoming water line, either on hot or cold.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-install-under-counter-water-heater.html
Under-counter water heater located near tub will supply hot water just like ordinary household water heater. But it will not reheat water that circulates inside the spa tub.
Otherwise, a spa heater is made with electric element that can work with 120V or 240V. Water from tub circulates through tank that holds element. Element must be fully immersed in water.
To retrofit spa tub with this heater would require cutting water line near pump, running both ends of water line into tank with element.
Then of course you would need to retrofit adjustable thermostat to control when element is on. And integrate element operation into air control switch at tub that can override thermostat so element is not heating when tub is not in use.
Unless there is a pre-packaged kit to retrofit heater, I think adding heater would be difficult.

Spa thermal overheating

Turn off all power to the hot tub as soon as you realize it is overheating. The spa should have an automatic shut off when the water temperature reaches about 112 degrees fahrenheit. Call your hot tub dealer or manufacturer for service options. There are a variety of conditions that could lead to the overheating of your hot tub, but may differ in various hot tub models and brands. Check the water level of the hot tub. Low water levels could be the culprit for the over heating, so you may just need to add more water to the hot tub.
Check the shut-off valves in the hot tub. If they are closed while the hot tub heater is on, it could cause the water to reach unsafe temperatures.
Clean the hot tub filter. A dirty filter could be blocking the flow of water, causing the water to sit in the hot tub and overheat.
Turn the power back on after finding the problem and talking to the hot tub dealer. The hot tub will probably not start back up until the water reaches a safe temperature

I turn off the cold water during the fill up, and then turn it back on after it has filled. I hate this washer too because of that.

Inner tub broke away from outer tub casing

Time for the dump. Probably need a new tub lock nut but there may be more damage to the transmission or tub seal which will leak water and it may not be worth the $100 service call for a Tech to tell you you need a new washer. Good time to buy appliances right now, try to get free installation!

Cell phone dropped in water - red dot showing - options?

you don't need to actually drop your phone in water for there to be water damage.
simple things like having your phone in the rain, in the bathroom while you shower, around a hot tub, or possibly even if it's really humid outside can set this water damage sensor off.
it just gives phone companies more ways to void your warranty.

hope this helped.
