Water damage... hopefully fixable :( i hate hot tubs...

I was at a party and went to the hot tub, i kept my phone with my just in case my parents needed to reach me. i put it on the outside wall of the jacuzzi and thought it would be fine... until my 300 pound friend big will got in... the hot tub over flowed and drowned my phone... now the screens are both black, it won't charge (well at least it doesnt show it... because the screens are black) and i cant turn it back on...

i have already opened the phone up, taken out the battery, and let it try for about 20 hours... and it still wont work...

any help? do i just need a new battery? or is the only way a new phone...
what a dumb way to lose a 275 dollar phone...

Yesterday, I was texting my boyfriend... I was in the bath tub, but I was drying my hands off onto a towel... I didn't think much of it, because my phone has been dropped into the dogs water bowl by...

Try this :
Bring a hair dryer ,then remove your battery and sim card, then turn the hair dryer on (the hot air)
make the hair dryer focus on the phone from the battery side becuase there are some holes wich the
hot air can get inside the mobile and dry the mobile hard ware.
Make the hair dryer focus on the mobile for 5 minutes but be careful and make a distance between
the hair dryer and between the mobile to avoid damage the plastic mobile case becuase of hot air.

After five minutes turn the hair dryer off and wait until the mobile gets cold, then turn it on
This way is effective 50% to 90 %
If your mobile worked that means congratulations.
If it worked but not 100% that means there is improvement and keep drying it by the hair dryer as
i explained before,,,every dry for 5 minutes only.
But if it doesnt work at all ...that means your mobile needs a hardware repair and you have to send
it to a mobile repair store.

My samsung sph m350 took a swim in the hot the back dry, but there is still water in the lcd part how do i take it apart to dry it? phone is not working. thanks.

i personally wouldn't risk further damage by taking it apart to try and dry it off. one trick i use and it may seem silly but does work is to soak it in uncooked rice for a few hours the rice will pull out the water after some time and can help the device work. If the device had been submerged or soaked for any substantial amount of time with the battery in it, it may be a lost cause fyi.

I have a motorola razr v3x phone, problem with water damage

I dropped my in the bath tub giving my little girl a bath. I pulled the back cover and battery out and sat it upside down, back faceing up, under a lap and turned it over every hour. The next morning put the battery in and closed it up, no problems - till the next time it went swimming and had to repete the process.

Blackberry Pearl in water

The screen has been damaged internally. You also might have risked frying out the hardware with turning it on with the moisture still inside the phone. It also sounds like some of the moisture may still be stuck inside the phone which could cause the screen to have problems.

If you would like to try, you can take apart the phone to try and remove moisture that way. This guide will help you out in doing so. Also understand by taking apart the phone it voids any warranty. Yet since you dropped the Pearl in the water, its already out of warranty since the little water sensitive strips (inside and outside) the phone have been turned red which destroys the warranty.

Your best option is to just get the phone replaced because a phone never works the same after water damage.

Hope this helps;

Cell phone dropped in water - red dot showing - options?

you don't need to actually drop your phone in water for there to be water damage.
simple things like having your phone in the rain, in the bathroom while you shower, around a hot tub, or possibly even if it's really humid outside can set this water damage sensor off.
it just gives phone companies more ways to void your warranty.

hope this helped.

No Service... water damage

The best thing to try is to open the phone with torque 6 screwdrivers and to air it with an airblaster that you can get at any local electronics store. Other than that, something could have shorted out when it dropped in water.
