#1 cylinder is on the left side as you sit on the bike. The plugs are numbered in accordance to the HT lead connection.

Exploded views of the whole bike on the above sight. Should help you get it all good. Make sure to set timing at TDC before gettin the head/cams/chain etc ready. Cheers
