Water got spilled on the screen. I wiped it off. But some got under and inside the screen. There was distortion so i turned it off for a day. But after finally turning the tv on I observed that there is slight discoloration in viewing and there's distortion in the picture. Also a part of the screen on the leftmost side is blank and even the back light is off in that part. Its Bad. do i need to get the screen replaced?
The underside of the screen has a special coating necessary for reflecting the images from the CRT tubes. If the finish is disturbed, it will no longer be viable. You may have to replace the front screen or put up with a nasty screen.

Possibly a bad light tunnel assembly if the part is only a shadow effect. If not then probably a bad DMD board. The DMD board is part of the light engine but needs to be replaced by a technician.
