HP tochpad Hello, I had the same problem, well roughly. I had it when connecting a PCMCIA wireless card to my old HP omni4500, that otherwise works with no flaws at all. I think, even in newer notebooks from HP, that the problem lies with the software for the touchpad, conflicting with "something". Never used again the PCMCIA and still working very well. Regards

Is it possible to connect an old IBM laptop 240X thinkpad to wireless internet

Yes but you need to install a PCMCIA wireless card and the wireless card driver.
There are several makes on the market, such as Netgear, D-link etc.
I suggest you Google search the Internet for PCMCIA wireless cards and select one that suits your requirements.

I have an older HP laptop with no wireless capability. We have DSL with the wireless router connected to our desktop. The only way I can access the internet is by putting in the AT&T air card. I don't want...

You can connect to the Internet using your DSL wireless router by several methods.
1. If your HP has a LAN port the you can connect to your wireless router with a LAN cable (provided you have a spare LAN port on the router.
2. You can use a USB wireless adapter to connect to the wireless router.
3. You can use a PCMCIA wireless card to connect to the wireless router.
Both the wireless USB and PCMCIA wireless adapter are approx. $50, my preference is to use a PCMCIA adapter, it leaves the USB port free for other devices, such as USB memory sticks, especially if the laptop has only one USB port.

Verizon Wireless PC 5750 air car work in a HP Pavillion

No because the Aircard PC5750 is a PCMCIA slot card, and your laptop has a Next Gen Express Card/ 54 Slot. The Express card slot is smaller than the PCMCIA slot. That makes the PC5750 incompatible.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

System: Compaq presario 2100 Intel. Disassembled the computer to fix the battery/power jack that is connected to the motherboard. My pcmcia/CISCO wireless card is not working since I fixed the computer,...

You can try using Compaq Diagnostics for Windows 95/98 for your model, there is no PCMCIA driver available on HP website for this computer.

If this is not a software problem, then it is probably a bad soldering joint that lost contact on one or more of the PCMCIA motherboard contacts.

Pcmcia wireless card will not connect to any network

Try the laptop and the PCMCIA cards at an internet cafe. IF they don't work there as well, I recommend you throw the cards away or give them away and buy your self some new ones.

Wireless card works, but can't get the computer but nothing no connection no internet

You can try this site:
http://www.z-cyber.net/WirelessLAN%20PCMCIA.htm

Your card is actually a BritePort™ Wireless LAN PCMCIA Card 2020, which was marketed by Creative. It's made by Broadxent, which is a British company. Either write to Creative tech support and ask for the driver, or contact Broadxent.

How can i get wireless connection on my notebook?

as in our chat session, you will need a pcmcia card, cardbus/type-II wireless card, preferably 802.11g with backwards compatibility. the cd that will come with it should install everything needed with minimal user interaction. you can try a usb wireless dongle, but i don't believe most work well with usb1.x. the good news is, although your laptop is old, the pcmcia card specs have not changed much, just make sure that whichever card you pick up has windows 98/98se drivers.
