Question about Acer Aspire L100 PC Desktop

I bought an Acer XP Professional last winter, and I am having problems with the empowering technologies. The store I bought it from is little to be desired in service, Computer's Plus, although they are supposed to be a #1 store here, but I went through sheer stress trying to deal with them! I did buy the $300 extended contract, but that is all he was interested in! I "asked" for Home edition, which I got the professional after I got home, with NO software, book or anything to go with it! I paid over $1,000 for this! I'm explaining this so you will know why I'm not taking it back to them. After I got it home, it was faulty, but they would NOT replace my puter. I had to take it back in to let their repairman "fix" it. He did NOT! What was fixed, "I" did myself! Ok, the problem I have now. It says the empowering technology needs to be re-installed but I have looked everywhere to do this and no luck. Everything I click on under that, I just come up with an error message. Also it says I don't have a JIT debugger now. Wordpad is gone, Word, a lots of programs. It also says that the administrator, which is ME, has 1396 locked, I think that is the no. U will know. lol I was getting about 4 error messages just signing on, but I just downloaded the "right" .NETframework, and they come up no more, except for the Empowering Technology. I have a copy of an invoice stuck on my desk top screen and at the bottom of screen it says Empowering Technology. How can I remove it?

Acer empowering technology refers to providing prompts on updates on drivers etc.

It does not refer to invoices. Are you sure it is not an icon or desktop picture you are looking at?

Right click on "the invoice" and look at the properties at the bottom of the menu,, it should give you a better description of the file you are looking at.

Installer for my laptop empowering technology for acer 5910G

Acer (all acers) have a back up installer.... It is a retoration program that often came on a CD or DVD but the latter models have it stored on the hard drive. You should check to see if there is an option called MAKE BACK-UP CD's OF YOUR ACER ( something like that) then you can make a full set of CD's or DVD's (usually about 4 DVD's) before you uninstall anything

I've just bought an acer aspire 2930z and the crystal eye isnt working... help! its only 3 days old

i have an acer gemstone and i had a technical fault with thier built in crystal eye webcam and i exchanged it for another laptop and that worked fine. as far as i know acer arent the best of equiptment

How can I reboot Acer Empowering Technology

Hi cliveboltman,

I assume you want to reinstall the acer empowering technology application.The application can be found in the Acer disc that you received with the laptop. If you misplaced or lost your disc, you can always download it from the website just specify your computer model and from there you can download the application. For further assistance please call your computer manufacturer.

Acer Aspire 3620-factory settings

Acer's ship with the factory recovery built into the system. As long as this has not been deleted you should be able to do it.

Click and Start - > All programs

and look for Acer Empowering Technology

Inside that folder there should be a few different programs (dont' have my acer here so i can't remember the names exactly). One of them will allow you to reset from the harddrive and another one will allow you to make your own recovery disks. I would do this first as that way you have a disk that you can put away in the closet in case your harddrive ever dies and needs to be replaced. If that is the case you NEED the disks as the new harddrive would not be setup to do it for you.

First things First:
1) Tell us more about your particular problem.
If windows boot, or you see something on the startup boot.
2) did you try to reinstall the OS?
3) all connection are ok?

ERecovery error

Acer....gotta love it...
You aren't alone when looking for help with Acer's framework technology.
What you're going to want to do is use the Msconfig utility to work around this problem. To start msconfig click on Start, select Run, type msconfig in the Run text box then click on OK.

Next select the Startup tab when msconfig opens. Look in the list for eRecovery Service and uncheck it. Select Apply and then OK when done. It will pop a message that a restart is require for changes to take effect. Restart the system.

From what I've read, this may or may not completely fix the INT15 Error eRecovery must be terminated error message. If it doesn't, go back into msconfig/startup and look to see if PCMService has been unchecked. If so, recheck it, select apply and OK, then reboot.

This was all the info I could dig up so I'm not 100% sure if the suggestions are guaranteed to work.
