Install dvd benq dw1620 in dell 2300 xp

installed dvd dr and it powers up but will not show up in computer drive ie no drive letter. The computer doesn't show any drive to open
I have removed the 2nd cd drive and tryed to see if it would work in d drive but same thing it seems that the computer doesn't reconize the new dvd drive the model is Benq Dw1620. Can you help

Wizyou have to remember to set the Jumpers on the drive to assigh it Master or Slave, if this is not done it will conflict with the other drive on the IDE cable, (you would usually match the setting of the drive you removed)
This setting is assigned using a jumper on a block of six pins which is usually located next to the 40 pin IDE connector.
