German keyboard layout problem

The uses for mapping your keyboard are numerous, but remapping your keyboard's keys is not for the squeamish.
There are numerous software applications to map and remap a keyboard's keys.
The best part is that the software is free and easily downloadable via the Internet.
So, go ahead and swap those unused keys on your keyboard to suit your computing experience, and make your keyboard more effective without fear of damaging your computer

Place your mouse pointer over a key on the visual keyboard. Notice that the key is numbered.
To see what function the key is currently assigned to, allow your mouse pointer to hover over the key.
A pop-up displays what the key is attributed to.
Left-click the mouse pointer on a key you wish to change.
Click on Choose New Remapping from the drop-down menu.
Select Remap Key from the Control area on the interface.
You may also opt to disable or enable the key, and reset the default for this key.

Left-click Apply. Look at the list box at the top-left of the interface, labeled "Remapped keys currently in effect."
Ensure that the keyor keys you selected are listed in this list box.

Fix a mistake by resetting the defaults.
Click on the top button adjacent to the list box you just visited.
Pressing this button will remove all the changes to your keyboard mapping.
SharpKeys is a Registry hack that is used to make certain keys on a keyboard act like other keys.

Is it possible to use any alternate key for my damaged enter key

Hi there,

the only option apart from replacing the keyboard (which is easy but usually fairly expensive) would be to use the on screen keyboard which you control using the mouse.
you activate the on screen keyboard through Programs->accessories->ease of access and select on screen keyboard

Hope this helps

How do I reverse selections on number pad? I presume it is achieved with a key stroke like the caps lock. Which one?

I am not clear on what you want to do ... you don't want to put the 1 where the 7 is ... do you?

You can set your key pad to be numbers or you can use the other features listed on the keys, To change between numbers and features, you press the "Num Lock" key which is normally just above the 7 key.

If you do want to put the 1 where the 7 in, for example, you will have to remap your keyboard. And this is entirely possible ... I am not going into that detail here ... it is beyond the scope of what happens here normally. You can find instructions for remapping from Dell or any other fine computer manufacturer. Also, if you want to pursue this, you could 'goggle' remap my keyboard' for instructions.

Shift key isn't working properly it is backspace how do i fix this problem

this has been a problem with my "internet navigator logitech keyboard" and when i run the "#keyhistory" script i get these results after hitting
the following keys :

L L RightShift L L CapsLock L L

VK SC Type Up/Dn Elapsed Key Window
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
4C 026 d 0.47 L
4C 026 u 0.16 L
4C 026 d 2.89 L
4C 026 u 0.17 L
A1 136 d 2.19 RShift
A6 16A a d 0.02 Browser_Back
A1 136 u 0.16 RShift
A6 16A a u 0.00 Browser_Back
4C 026 d 0.80 L
4C 026 u 0.13 L
4C 026 d 2.52 L
4C 026 u 0.14 L
14 03A d 6.05 Caps Lock
AA 165 a d 0.02 Browser_Search
14 03A u 0.19 Caps Lock
AA 165 a u 0.00 Browser_Search
4C 026 d 4.80 L
4C 026 u 0.14 L
4C 026 d 0.11 L
4C 026 u 0.14 L

and as you can see I have two problems with this. One problem is that when i am in an internet browser and i hit shift it acts as Backspace/Back and when i am renaming a folder and i hit shift to use caps it also acts as Back. The other problem is similar with the Caps Lock key, whenever i am in an internet browser and i hit Capslock, the Search window appears and the Capslock function gets activated as well.
I was trying to Remap these two keys but i wasn't successful in doing so,
for the shift key i tried remaping 00_6A and E0_6A to another key and i also tried remapping 00_36 to another key and neither of these two helped.
and for Caps lock i tried remapping E0_65 to another key and it didn't work. I also tried turning off both the shif key and the CapsLook key and their that only turned off their original function but it didn't turn off the backspace or the search functions.

Hello my phones (nokia 6710 navigator ) keypad is lagging. And how to turn off zooming when i am waching pictures or filming video?

Install Magic Keys (http://www.symbian-freak.com/downloads/freeware/cat_s60_3rd/descriptions/systools/magic_keys_remap_and_extend_your_keyboard.htm)

Remap key 192 (zoom left) to 186. Then remap also 193 (zoom right) to 186 (operator key - not available on 6710).

Setup Magic Keys to start on boot. Then reboot the phone.

This prevents some of the zooming although once in a while, Magic Keys misses it.

I want to reprogram a key on my keyboard from a printer key to a control key. How do I do that?

I program called Keytweak at http://webpages.charter.net/krumsick/ can be used to remap any key to any other. But I'm not sure if you can remap the "printer" key since that is non standard. The best idea is to try it, it is free.

Good morning I have a question over Symbol GUN MC9090. Some body as tell me the F% key is reserved from Symbol. The end user can't ise it. Is true?

The F5 key is not reserved. it is simply not mapped to anything. If you want it to work as F5 you will need to remap the key. The where to remap it, will depend on the type of application you use. If you use wavelink client, i can help you.

Euro key

You can try the free KeyTweak program to remap the euro key or just plain disable it. To remap the key means changing the function, for example you could make the euro key into the Caps Lock key. DOWNLOAD: http://webpages.charter.net/krumsick/
