Question about Toshiba 27A62 27" TV

1 Answer

TV won't power ON

When  I turn the set on I hear a clicking sound and the pwr LED on front comes on but no picture comes on.  From then on I get the same symtom every 5- 10 seconds, after a couple of hours the set usually comes on.
The other symptom is that I can not stop the set from trying to turn on unless I pull the pwr cord from the wall receptacle

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Set worked fine when turned off. Now nothing happens when pwr button is pressed. Timer light does not come on. If system reset button is pressed, pwr led flashes for 60 secs. System is still dead. Status...

If your tv is around 2-4 yrs or used 6000-8000 hrs, never replaced the lamp before it could be time to replace it.If you hear strange noises like buzzing or humming noises it could be the color wheel which is a little disc that has a gamma of colors and spins at high rpms. When the light of the lamp goes through it creates the colors on your tv.The other most common failure is the board that powers the lamp, which is called the ballast. When its bad it will make a clicking sound or like wanting to turn on. For parts you can find them in or God bless.

Should have been 3300 UF 10V caps that were bad? Shouls have been replaced with 3300UF 18V. 50V is huge. If it was replaced with a 50 the polarity may be wrong or the cap it too big to be seated property. Sometimes the caps just dry out and even a normal looking one will be the culprit of no OSD. Are you getting an LED fault code blinking? That should be a red led. Do you hear the relay clicking.? When you replaced the caps did you charge them? Just plugging in the set without trying to power it on for about 20-30 mins. I may be able to help you

No sound no picture

Does any lights come on led on front of set? Does set make any squealing sound when you press power? If not then open and look at power supply board. This is the board that the cord is attached too. look for open fuse, check 2004, 1000, 1300, 1900, etc. See if fuse blown then look for short in pwr. supply.
