Question about Jensen LXA300 Car Audio Amplifier
I have two JL Audio 12's in my 2004 Yukon with a LXA300 Jensen amp. I am having trouble geting low bass I've played with my EQ but my speakers bottom out when low freq. hits? What causes speakers to bottom out?
Get a bigger amp. or smaller subs!!!!

What type of box are you using and what size? A sealed sub-box will give you more hit and more bottom end but drops off on higher frequencies. A ported box is much more efficient and has less drop off at different frequencies but is much larger, but with a Yukon you probably don't have to worry about the size of the box.

Check the wiring of the woofers. If one speaker is wired improperly, it can cause the loss of bass and will make the woofers bottom out easily. Check inside the enclosure at the terminals and at the speaker.
