Error message flashing set paper again set toner again. after doing this and even changing the toner cartridge, error message still appears
After having opened the top and pulled it out. I recommend examining whether there is any evidence of loose toner in the machine at this point.Push the toner cartridge in to make sure it is properly seated.Then close the toner cover.Then close the scanner.

I had this problems and did everything suggested on here. Installed firmware update (which just changed the error message - didn't get rid of it), removed paper, changed size, replaced paper, tried new cartridge. Nothing worked. Finally found a tiny piece of paper that must have been blocking the sensor. It was on the left side near where the power cable is. It was less than an inch square. Got it out with some tweezers and problem solved.

Trying cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and clean the contacts on the printer use a dry tint paper towel to clean the contacts. Then try to reinstall the cartridge using the software. Try to print the self test. If failed try another cartridge if you dont get any error then the cartridge might be defective

If you look at one of the other colors you can see how the toner cart door slides under some plastic to open it. I bet the yellow one is broke. Tape a folded piece of paper to the end of the cartridge. That might hold it down so it will work.
