Re: fossil red degrade flame battery replacement

For this watch, the back screw off in a counter-clockwise direction. Put away the knife, and pick up the needle-nose pliers. See the 6 indents on the back of the watch? Push the pliers into the left side of the notch, forcing it in a counter-clockwise direction, and it should twist off.

Re: fossil red degrade flame battery replacement

Some watches, you screw off the backing. It rotates counter-clockwise, like a wood screw, but you need a special tool for it. It may have notches on the exterior, my watch has 6. I just used needle-nose pliers to twist it off, but this may and probably will cause scratches.

How do u open back to fix an fossil black 5 atm fs-4351 hand watch

Jerry, If its smooth on the back cover, you have to pry it off carefully. Get a magnifying glass and look around the cover edge, there should be a small under cut. Pry at this point with a penknife blade or similar. If the cover has 6 or 8 small indentations in it then it likely unscrews but you may still need to see a watch shop for the tool to unscrew it.
Fossil watches have a 2 year warranty so if its inside this, take it to a dealer.

How do I remove the back cover of a Fossil JR-8096 (Big Tic) wristwatch?

when you look at the back are there three small rectangular indents evenly spaced on the edge on the back? If so you'll need a special tool for opening waterproof watches. the tool adjusts to fit the three indents then press down as you turn counterclockwise. you can find the tool on or your local jewelry store. make sure the gasket is in place and not damaged before screwing the back on.

here is a link to the tool

How do I open the back of a watch to replace the battery with simple around the house tools?

mcdevito75 Here, You may not be able too, not without spaecial jewlers tools, even if you get the back cover off you"ll need special screwdrivers to loosen the hold down clamp on the battery. Best Bet, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for the battery change.

I want to change out batteries

1. Lay the watch upside down on top of a towel or cloth on a flat workspace. Use a small flat head screwdriver or blade to pry under the watch backing, then lift the backing from the watch. Slide the battery cover to the side to access and remove the battery.

2.Take the battery to any electronics store to purchase a replacement. Bringing the old battery will ensure you install the correct type of battery in your Fossil watch.

3. Replace the battery and the battery cover. Apply pressure to the backing until it "pops" back into the watch.

I have a fossil watch model fs4255 leather strap dress amber dial and I want to open back to remove old battery and replace with a new. i have a watch repair tool kit and replace all my own watch batteries...

mcdevito75 here, Even with the proper tools we still have to improvise at times, Instead of useing your case opener from your tool kit, use a steak knife or similar with a sharp edge inside that groove you"ve described, the cover will pry off.

I have an Abacus wrist net and the battery is dead. Where do I send it to get the battery replaced?

Most watch shops will replace batteries but you might need a Fossil dealer to replace yours, as it might need a special tool.

Try your local dealer first.

If you do need a Fossil dealer, go to ""; at the bottom of the screen is a menu which includes "store locator". This will tell you where your nearest store is.

My big tic display is dim

This sort of watch is usually best taken to bits by a jeweller - they have all the tools to take the backs off etc. without scratches. When lighting effects start to go bad, the battery is usually only to blame if the problem gets steadily worse. otherwise the suspect item is the light itself, probably an LED, or the circuit that is passing power to the light - the controller. It is still almost certainly worth trying to get the battery changed, that will solve most problems with a watch, so maybe you get lucky without spending too much. Hope this helps - please post again if not - also if you need us to find a jeweller near you post with your general area. :)
