Toshiba 36inch color tv demo troubleshooting

My 36in toshiba tv is having problem with demo mode. Demo is automatically appearing and it won't go away. I tried pushing clear, turn off tv and took the plug out. still appearing. Whenever demo appears the remote control won't function. And there is nothing wrong with front panel buttons. does anybody know what's going on with my tv?

Same problem as described it appears to be stuck in some demo mode it goes away for about 4 minutes and comes back. I've had the problem about 6 months ago and it seems to be happening again. It lets me know that i have advanced color tv. the remote goes inactive while in mode. I am getting frustrated. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME... before I go CRAZY!!! please tell me how to make the demo stop.

None of your suggestions have helped. I was able to clear this once before but can't remember how. It's driving me out of my mind...YIKES. My daughter accidentially pushed the demo start/stop button. Now the demo is on continusiously without stopping. How do I turn the demo from start to STOP?

Please help: This former demo TV does not react on the remote control, also not on universal remote controls. Looks to be fine when controlled via panel control buttons. Any suggestions? Thanks, Hendrik

Demo is activated / de-activated by holding a combination of
two buttons on the tv front for at least four seconds. Try menu &
power or vol up & chan up...........T.

Please rate this solution.......

I can NOT stop the "verbiage" from appearing and

gfarley806,

Your description sounds like your unit is in the "DEMO" mode. The procedure to access the demo mode and turn it on or off is in the operaitons manual. If you do not have one you can download one for free at http://www.retrevo.com/support/Toshiba-42H81-TVs-manual/id/311bh747/t/2/ . If you do not care about getting the maual and just want the verbiage to end here is the procedure:

To start the demo mode:

Press and hold the MENU button on the front of the set for 4 seconds.

To stop the demo mode:

Press RECALL, EXIT or Power
Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Great ratings keep experts answering questions. Thank you.

My toshiba 36in crt tv's demo mode keeps turning it self on

Hi,
Since I do not have your tv model number so can't be specific, check Demo mode option in Menu and turn it off. Some tvs have selection like Store/ Display and Home mode, store or display mode is demo mode so set tv on home mode to turn off demo mode.
Let me know model number of your tv if you have additional question.
Thanks.

TV settings appearing on screen while viewing

The TV is in the DEMO mode. Many sets have a demo mode, and they are all turned on and off differently. I do not recall exactly how it is done on the Toshiba, but if you look in your owner's manual or go through all pages of the menu, you should be able to find the option for demo mode and be able to turn it off.
