My Canon PICMA MP780 is in photo pro and I want to reset

I have the same problem. I'm unable to get it out of photo pro. I was pushing some buttons tonight and now it is stuck in photo pro. I don't know how to get the Image Quality button to reset to Normal. I've tried just about everything. Need help.

Canon mp780 is stuck on fine mode and it will not

yes, first change the paper setting button to normal, then you can lower the image quality on copies.

MP780 copy mode/resolution

Mine was stuck on fine photo resolution too and it wouldn't print in normal black. I tried lots of things and the only thing that seemed to work was pushing the photo button and then pushing the copy button again. Good luck.

Says Photo print but want normal print

On the MP750 (and MP780...) there are 3 small "buttons" on each side of the screen. On the right side, the lowest button controls the movement from plain to glossy to high resolution to photoprint. So, if you are on one of these settings and want to switch, you press this button. Pressing it only once will affect only the paper size, but pressing the button twice will control the resolution. To move among the options use the arrow buttons (left and right) under the menu...then just push the ok button. It worked for me.

Resetting to "normal" print

I am guessing that you do not have the Manual.

Try this site for a Manual:

http://support-au.canon.com.au/EN/search?canonsearch=1&lang=EN&category=All-in-One+Printers&series=All-in-One+Printers&model=PIXMA+MP780&menu=Manual

It should have the instructions you need.

Have you tried the Printers Help pages?

Good luck.

Canon MP780 has gone crazy!

Issue: Unable to send faxes
Solution: Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device

Reset the device when it is not functioning properly.
If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it.
  1. On the operator panel, press and hold the <ON/OFF> button for one second. (The display will go blank.)

  2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the <ON/OFF> button again.

  3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.

were the copies from the computer or something you tried to copy before?

Can't change image quality

The problem is that only "fine photo pro" is available when the paper selected is photo paper. Change source to the sheet feeder, hit the "Paper" button and then select normal paper. You'll then be able to change the quality to normal.
