Canon IP 5000. printer not resonding. Help!

I have a Canon IP 5000. I have reinstalled the drivers and software. I am on Vista and it detected the printer and installed the printer automatically. It wont print a test page and printer status comes up with Printer not responding. I called canon and they told me to reinstall with the internet off and anti virus off. Done that with same result. reinstalled USB driver still same result!! Help!
