Where's the reset button on my HP tower

the word reset has many meanings, in terms of a PC./
no PC stated, just the word tower. that too means little
the PC has a real model number in the service tag sticker.
mine is top front of tower.(mine is workstation xw4600, or Z600)
there are vast models of HP desktop PC l boxes.
some have a hardware reset button on the front, marked so.
then there is PassWord reset button on the mobo(inside mother board)
then there is RTC CMOS NVRAM reset button on mobo.
and many other classes of software resets using virtual buttons.
BIOS resets and OS resets vast.

why not start of by stating the problem first.? so we can be on the same page, and answer accurately.
telling the OS helps too , windows what?
here is what the tag looks like

Hi i am looking for vga cable 9 Pin Female to 15 Pin Female thanks

The 9-pin port on your PC tower is NOT a video port, it is a serial data port. All VGA connectors are 15-pin. Hooking up to the 9-pin port will not get you a picture. There should be a VGA port on the PC, or else a DVI an/or HDMI port. You can get DVI-to-VGA adapters that work, but only if the DVI port is an analog DVI, not if it is a digital DVI (DVI-D or DVI-DD).

My Garmin Nuvi 250, when plugged into cigarette lighter, switched from a working screen to a non functional screen that has picture that looks like a computer tower with cord or a usb cord or something...

New , later maps for the Garmin take up more space that what unit has in available memory - so you have to get an sd memory card to put in the slot when you do the update.

Compaq's are notoriously under powered. You should take a look at the power rating on your power supply, then cheque the necessary voltage for the card. Also make sure that the card doesn't have an extra power connection that you need to fill to make it work.

Probably just needs replaced. Sometimes one can clean it and it will last a little longer. It's an easy job to replace it. Just download the manual for your model from the maufacturer's website to see how to gain access to the inside of the computer. Replacement fans are available at places like CompUSA or similar stores, or you can order one on the internet. Just take the existing fan out of the case and take it to the store with you to be sure you get the right one. Take care about static electricity, as it can zap your components, especially the motherboard and the memory sticks. Touch the computer case before touching any parts inside the computer.

If you don't feel comfortable changing the fan out, a computer repair place can probably do it for not much.

Replacing the hardrive

i do not have the same model as you but generally all covers come off in a similar way. first have a look round the tower and you should see screws mainly at the back, have a good look at the screws because some hold components to the cover inside. you need to look for screws that are right on the edge of one side, generally larger than any other, undo them, then check the bottom of the tower on the same side as these ecrews, remove them, then the side that had the screws should slide towards the back, it may seem a little stiff, but should slide backwards a few centimetres and then fall, off loosely. hope this helps
