Question about Maytag 24 in. MDC5100A Free-standing Dishwasher
My Maytag “Freestanding” dishwasher won't start a cycle and has Blinking LED lights on the front. It worked fine yesterday. Model Number: MDC5100AWW. Serial Number: 27379485AE Control Type: Electronic
The following two LEDs are blinking:
- LED above the "Heated Dry" button
- LED for the "Clean" icon
They are both on constant synchronized blink (NOT providing specific number of blinks to indicate a code).
I bought the dishwasher new in 2001 and it has never had a problem prior to today.
May or may not have contributed to the issue: Yesterday I ran the dishwasher using the "rinse only" cycle to rinse the cups with only water. During the middle of the rinse I needed to get water from the faucet, so I removed the plastic attachment that holds inlet and outlet hoses to the opening of the kitchen faucet. (It

SOURCE: I have a MDB5130AWW model
You may have a seized/stuck motor. Turn the electricity off and remove the lower panels. Take a flat head screw driver and carefully attempt to move the motor impellers. If the impellers feel hard to turn continue to try and free the impellers. If they loosen, reactivate the power and start the appliance. Good luck!

Hello, welcome to FixYa.
I'll start by saying the "2" in the display when you press cancel is normal. If you allow it to complete it should initiate the drain before you press cancel the second time.
Initially It sound's like a fill valve or stuck float assembly, though there are many possible scenarios that can include a heating element or a control board, so I'll need to clarify the unit will indeed complete the cancel if you do not push it the second time and if it does complete the cancel will it then in turn start a new cycle ?
Let me know what you find or if you can add any further details and I'll try to help moving forward any way I can. Good luck.
Thanks for visiting FixYa.
