Does you computer detect a new device when you plugged the Coby MP3 player?
If Coby MP3 player has cd driver, better to install it to your pc. Some computer/laptop doesn't detect autoplay when new USB device plug-in

Go to this link and select your unit in the download wizard and download the drivers for your device. Install the drivers without the Clip MP3 plugged in. Once the drivers are installed, you can then plug in the Clip MP3 and windows should correctly identify your new hardward and finish installing the drivers for it.

Hi i have a coby mp3 player that is not recognised by my ups port when i plug it in. How can i fix the problem threw my computer.

You can plug the mp3 into a usb port on your computer to charge it, or you can buy an adaptor to plug the usb cord into and then plug the adaptor into the wall.

You can try to plug it into a wall plug using the charger that should have come with the mp3

I PLUGGED IN MY MP3 PLAYER TO THE COMPUTER AND THE SCREEN ON MY MP3 PLAYER LIGHTS UP BUT the normal screen image for when you normally plug it into the computer ISN'T THERE AND I CAN'T ADD MUSIC ON MY MP3 PLAYER.

I opened Media Player and plugged the mp3 player into the usb port and used the feature called Sync and it started downloading my music onto the mp3 player. I also checked the function in my computer under device manager to make sure the usb port was working correctly.. Hope this helps!

MTP stands for Media Transfer Protocol. If you did not run your installation CD BEFORE plugging the mp3 player into the computer, Windows XP and higher will read it as an MTP Device. As long as the player does not cause you problems, there is nothing wrong with your computer calling it that. If this is a problem: unplug the mp3 player from the computer, uninstall all software for that player, restart computer, reinstall allsoftware from installation CD, restart computer, then plug mp3 player into computer.
