If you recently moved your computer from one location to another it might be because a cable inside the system became loose or disconnected, causing you computer to not detect the hard drive. Check all the connection inside the computer.

from what i know, consensus of hard disks are plug and play meaning they won't need a driver to be installed because it automatically installs during startup.

Very sorry about your son.

If you can't find the real problem, you can always put that hard drive into another PC to get the files. If so, be sure to looking to a potential "jumper" setting on that drive for it to be recognized.

NTLDR is missing

Check your setup settings (BIOS) to make sure your booting from the correct drive. If the computer is trying to boot from the cd drive or USB, rather than the hard drive, you will receive this error message.

I have a e machine T5212 and hard drive went bad, installed new hard drive but when I try a fresh install of windows xp pro it gets so far then shuts down then starts then starts the fresh install all over...

It copys the files over and restarts to complete the install. Sounds like your pc might be booting from the cd again instead of booting from the hard drive. Try taking the cd out after it restarts, but before it gets past the first screen. Or go into the bios and make sure it boots from hard drive.

Easier and quicker to take the disc out ;-)

I had this problem a few years ago when i actually still used windows, but I can't remember the details, it may have been something else in the end. Hope it helps.

No bootable device insert boot diskemachines e627

Thats a hard drive error. Either drive is bad, Hard drive is not selected correcty in bios (press F2 when pc starts to go into setup), or your operating system has been erased.

Need to know if it supports any SATA hard diskS

Yes, the T5212 motherboard supports SATA hard drives. I checked the picture and it has four (4) internal SATA ports.

If you would like to make sure, you may open the CPU and look for four black ports that has a marking of "SATA0 up to SATA3". The SATA ports starts with the zero, that's why you will see SATA0.

Good luck and have a good evening!

How do you get the T5212 to read a memory stick?

Unless it has a port for that memory stick you'll have to get an external one. Maybe you can get one installed in the front of you computer. Good luck.
