you will have to go to dealer to have them get the radio code and program it to get it to work.write the code down and the procedure so you will have next time it happens.

See a vw dealer

youre going to need to get the radio code from the vw dealer. there is no way around this. you will need radio serial number and the vin off the door of the vehicle. once you have this info, write it down in the back of your owners handbook. to get the radio serial number, the radio will have to be pulled out.

With the intake where it is this can be verry hard. You may have to pull the intake manifole to get it done. I can pull 1,3,4 but 2 is a problem. Check with a good auto parts store many times they have people with mechanical skills and loaner tools.

get the serail # off radio and call a dealer.

2000 Beetle radio has a 10amp fuse at its rear left. have to remove radio to get to it. removing and returning radio is not easy. let me know if you need help with that as i have done this repeatedly on two different 2000 beetles and finally have it downpat. of course you need radio code, have found an article on how to disable VW radio anti-theft code but have not tried it yet.

disconect bettery for 4 hr than try againe

Try unhooking the battery for 5 minutes.
