Re: plez help

Never clean the drum with a q-tip theres a tiny sensor on the drum that can fall of or break if messed with use a soft head cleaning tape for 20 secs never use a hard head cleaning tape they are to rough on the drum i work for canon and actually just repaired this model today.

Re: plez help

Never store your tapes or camcorder near anything magnetic. Sounds like it could be a dirty tape head (the one that reads the tape) or a loose connection with the wires. Try a different cable first if you can, then go on to cleaning the tape head with a Q-tip and 99% alcohol. The tape head is located on the shiny round metal thing that the tape runs on. Questions? Don't hesitate to ask. Your tape should be fine as long as it wasn't near a magnet.

I recorded my sons wedding with a dvd-rw. I went through the finalization steps. When I tried playing it on a dvd player it wouldn't recognize the disc. I tried to finalize again or unfinalize and the...

There is definitely a solution for this but you must use a computer to recover the information on that disc. It also depends on the software you are using to recover such information from the disc. My recommendation would be that you start by simply inserting your disc in the DVD Rom on the computer see what happens when you open My Computer on the Desktop then you click on the DVD rom icon to see if the DVD opens. If it opens it means the information on the disc can be read. so you click again on the folder that appears. If you have a media player installed then that media player will play back those video files. These files can then be transferred to the computer then authored by a computer software like Nero. There are many other programs that can do this job. Also such software can open sometimes such a disc if and when the windows operating system's My computer fails to open it.

Our wedding video was recorded on a DVD +RW disc on a Sony DCR-DVD108 camcorder. I did watch it on the camcorder once. I then finalized it so I could play in on my computer and DVD player. Now nothing...

It's possible because your DVD is an RW that someone could have reformatted it on accident erasing the video. If you have something important to preserve make sure you do not use an RW DVD because accidents can happen and it could get wiped out unintentionally.

Choppy Video

I had same problem. Don't buy a cleaner. Look inside camcorder and make sure both reel turners are equal in height...they can slide down. Turn both of of mine was down and also did not turn to make contact with tape. We got it to turn and the message C31:23 and the dinging quit. Camera instantly worked like it used to. Good luck.

Playback difficulties

Not specific enough but I would run a head cleaner thru it for 10 seconds and see if that improves things and always use the same brand of tape to prevent gum issues.
