Re: DS blinks and will not turn on
As complicated a console as the DS is, it is not surprising you have a problem after changing a case. Sometime the little snap on wires do not snap on right. You need to go back in and make sure the ribbons and snap on connectors are sucured. The ribbon and wire that runs from top half through the hinge needs to roll up one turn before in the transition from the top to bottom half. You may have the ribbon upside down in the connector.

Is it too big for it? If so, you might want to try this: the stylus holder is screwed on to the inside of the backing case. if you remove the case back you can remove the stylus holder and then the stylus and put it back together. Be careful when taking it apart and putting it back together not to break the power switch off, it is extremely delicate. turn the speakers all the way down and make surethat the slides are in position before putting the case back on.
Yes I can help you, the stylus holder is screwed on to the inside of the backing case. if you remove the case back you can remove the stylus holder and then the stylus and put it back together. Some of the screws are hidden.
-2 under rubber feet (bottom of console) - just prise the feet off - they just stick back on when refitting.
-1 screw (when the console is upside down) is in the middle of the cartride entry point - small black tri-wing screw.
Failing that check out YouTube - there are lots of videos showing how to take the case apart and put it back together again.
If you want get some tools and take the ds apart.make sure all the pieces are straight and are put together right.if there not straight, make them straight.if there not put together, put them back together.Hope it works.
There are two cross head screws under the rubber feet at the slot1 side, there are two tri-wing screws on the left (stylus side) and inside the battery cover (under the battery) there is a cross head screw at the top and a tri-wing screw at the bottom (in the corner).
The screen is held together by 4 screws under the ruber pads and then the outer case slides up about 5mm and then pulls clear.
Take great care when putting it all back together to line up the volume and power switches and plastics as the power switch breaks quite easily.
But my opinion is to go to a hardware store with a sample (cant be too long, the original ones are aprox 3mm long X 1mm diameter), try to find screws that fit and use normal philips screws instead these tri winding screws as you would need a tri winding screwdriver to put the original screws in place. All the screws in the NDSL screw in the plastic case except for the battery one that screw in a squared nut.
I have very good experince in repair of the DS. It is very very Complicated and loaded with detail, that if I told you what to do and how, it would take up to an hour to write. I know where all the ribbon cables go and how to hook them up and how to thread the ribbon cable and wire from the flip up monitor to the base. Allow me to offer to repair your DS, and I will offer the reasonable price of $20 including return shipping. No charge if I put it back together and it still doesn't work. All of the DS Consoles I have put back together worked good. I have not rebuilt a DS lite before. I am sure it is even more complicated.
