Replace lamp How do I get the lamp out of the GP1 Projector to replace it and what kind is it?

It seems like the lamp has failed. The cause of this is because the lamp can only run a certain amount of Hours before it will fail completely. On some projector models you are able to view the expected fail date and on other there is a warning light on the projector itself indicating that the lamp has reached a certain amount of hours and failure is imminent. Replacing the lamp should solve your problem and is usually quite easy to do

The same happened with mine F12 GP1. According to the Barco Technical Services the main board went dead and needs to be replaced. There was no evidence of any misuse, as the unit was pluged on a Panamax Surge Protection / Line Conditioner. It seems to be a project problem of this comment. By the way, even though my projector is four years old it was used for less than 1.000. It still has the original bulb.

sounds like the bulb will not fire up. most likely cause is the bulb needs replacing

I would certainly replace the lamp.

Whether or not you need to replace the lamp depends on how many hours of use it's had. You should be able to find the lamp time somewhere in the menu on the projector. Lamps for this projector are rated for 2000 hours (bright mode) or 3000 hours (Eco mode). In my experience they usually need changing at approx. 1500 to 1600 hours (bright mode). On Page 54 of the owners manual ( http://www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_manual_4177.pdf ) are instructions for changing the lamp and zeroing the timer once it's changed. The lamp is Type number : DT00911. You should be able to get one from the manufacturer, the dealer you purchased the projector from, or specialty bulb and lamp stores. Be prepared. They aren't cheap, but it's better than having to buy a new projector.

if you don't know exactly how many hours are on the new lamp, you can't be sure it works. since it's a mercury lamp, there will be no contenuity. check the lamp for cracks or clouding, not just burn marks.if the lamp is actually good, you may have a ballast issue.

not only reset the timer is good enough
u must use serive cable to disable the shut off function
and technically reset the system

try removing the lamp, usually quite easy, you need to find the door for the lamp. lamps are customer replaceable, usually. If the lamp is bad you can usually see it damaged in the lamp. kind of like you might be able to see the broken filament in your normale house hold light bulb. good luck.
