Theradio/tape/cd no longer works. I confirmed that it has 12 volts to the connector. Is there an anti-theft code that shut it down when the voltage was interrupted during the battery change?

Sounds like it needs the code inputting, mine did the same. Now, what the code is?????
Maybe if you post the make and serial number on here someone may be able to help. It maybe written down in your manual etc.

I need a code for a volvo radio the serial num is v084542209142e

There are three possible ways to get your radio working.
1)Call a dealer and they will give you the code. If for some reason they want to charge you for that code go to the contact page for volvo.com and enter all your info (year make VIN#)they will get back to you in a few days.
2)If you have a owners manual there is a card with the number written on it
3) Sometimes the four number code is written on the back of the stereo. So remove the radio and look on the back.
If you try to put the code in an after 3 tries you fail. The code will switch to OFF and they you will have to wait for 2 to 3 hrs before you can try again. If the OFF code shows up you can remove the number 7 fuse turn car on and replace and you don't have to wait.

2000 Chevrolet Lumina Unlock radio code

If you have the security code it's easy. The code is something that either you or a previous owner entered. If you don't have the security code a trip to the dealer will be in your future.

Unlocking the Theft-Deterrent Feature After a Power Loss

Enter the code as follows; pause no more than 15 seconds between steps.

  1. Turn ON the ignition. LOC will appear on the display.
  2. Press MN and 000 will appear on the display.
  3. Press MN again to make the last two digits agree with your code.
  4. Press HR to make the first one or two digits agree with your code.
  5. Press AM-FM after you have confirmed that the code matches the secret code you have written down. The display will show SEC, indicating the radio is now operable and secure.

Entering the incorrect code eight times will cause INOP to appear on the display. Wait an hour with the ignition in the ON position before you try again. When you try again, you will have three more chances (eight tries per chance) to enter the correct code before INOP appears.
Deactivating the Theft-Deterrent Feature

Enter the code as follows; pause no more than 15 seconds between steps.

  1. Turn the ignition to ACC or ON.
  2. Turn OFF the radio.
  3. Press the 1 and 4 buttons together. Hold them down until SEC shows on the display.
  4. Press MN and 000 will appear on the display.
  5. Press MN again to make the last two digits agree with your code.
  6. Press HR to make the first one or two digits agree with your code.
  7. Press AM-FM after you have confirmed that the code matches the secret code you have written down. The display will show -- -- --, indicating that the radio is no longer secured.

Entering the incorrect code will cause SEC to appear on the display. The radio will remain secured until the correct code is entered.

I need the radio code. It was fine until the battery got flat. It displays 'safe'

You'll have to bring the car to a dealer. With the VIN and the serial number of the radio they can look up the security code. Be prepared - you might get this done for free or a flat charge, but many will charge up to an hour's labor. Be sure they give you the code written down for future use.

Flat battery on my Daewoo Lanos SE 1998 caused loss of radio code! I bought the car second hand and unfortunately there was no manual. Any idea how I could get the code as this operates the tape deck too....

if u have a manual for car look for a hand written number inside cover or at radio section sales man usually tell owners to write it down if not than need to notify dealer they are only ones who have code

Need radio code

first check your glove box and/or flip through your owners manual if you have one, people usually write it down somewhere in the car. mine was written on top of the radio when i pulled it out. the face of the radio easily pulls out, dont go out and buy the tool to do so as you can put your finger in the tape deck and pull straight back, the radio will pull right out and the vin will be right on top, call the dealer with the number and they will look up the code if you have not found it already
