Believe you would have a open resistor on the green crt board, was either a 120k or 110k resistor

How do I adjust the convergence properties on an RCA rear projection tv?

Normally on the RCA rear projection TV's you would bring up your menu and choose the Setup menu, then press OK on the remote. That menu would then have Convergence as a choice. Once that was chosen the next menu would give you the choice of either letting the TV run it's own Autoconvergence program, or you would select either Red or Blue convergence.

Choosing Red Convergence would bring up a Yellow cross-hair in the middle of the screen. If the Convergence was not correct you would see separate Green and Red cross-hairs. Once they were perfectly aligned you would again see one Yellow cross-hair.

Choosing Blue Convergence would bring up a Blue cross-hair in the center of the screen. If the alignment was out you would see 2 Blue cross-hairs. Using the Up and Down and Left and Right cursor keys you would adjust the alignment until a single solid Blue cross-hair was in the center of the screen.

Im seeing duble words, how can i fix it?

There should be a convergence adjustment on this set. It will have a "cross hair" type pattern
You adjust the beams so that the cross hairs turn white. I believe Green is not adjustable intentionally. The procedure is to adjust the vertical Red line until it alligns with the Green line. Then adjust the vertical Blue line until it lines up with the Red and Green. The line should turn White.
Repeat the procedure for the horizontal lines. When you return to regular viewing mode the double
images should be greatly reduced or eliminated..
Hope I've helped you,
Best Regards,

Does it take some type of gel under the lights, the colors are a little blurry

i also have this tv. i removed backcleaned mirrior, back of screen and lenses VERY GOOD. Then turned on tv go to convergence, sepaerate cross hairs then adjust focus on lenses. Then lenses rotate maybe about a 1/3 turn total by hand. Grab ring that houses lenses and turn until cross hairs are as clear as possible. This can be done with out help by watching inside of screen. red and green are adjustable, the blue is adjustablealso but i couldnt find blue cross hairs, maybe by covering red and green lenses the blue will show on screen. anyway when done and cross hairs are clear, lenses, mirror and screen are clean, you can adjust covergence and get a very clear screencleaning will also brighten pic. Picture is OK, but colors are off and there is a blue star background that shows on dark colors.

Hello, With most rear projections there is usually an alignment to do with the set up with your TV. This is so the red, blue and green projectors align together to give the correct colouring. This sounds to me what may be causing the outlining of the blue. This can also make it seem off colour. Look in the set up menu of the tv and see if you can find this alignment feature. Usually a cross will appear and you move a blue, red, and green cross with the arrows on your remote to align over the original white one. If this does not work, it may also mean that one of your projectors, that is the red, blue or green one may be failing causing the off colouring. Hopefully this alignment may fix it for you.

Cross hairs

Hello, You need 2 convergence ICs if you cannot converge the red and blue lines on top of the green "cross hair". You should be able to use the front panel controls to move the red and blue around. If you can move them around and they just won't move completely on top of the green then the ICs are bad. The ICs are mounted to large, finned heatsinks and have numbers that start with "STK-" and have numbers following. These parts are available from http:\\
