Magellen 2036 auto off

magellan web site is a good place to look. you`ll probably have to purchase and download to your pc then hook your magellen to you pc. they have data cables for that that usually come with it. or get one on ebay. Magellen usually has an app you download to your pc and plug in your roadmate and it updates it and for an additional fee they sell you updated operating system of you gps.

Sounds like an on/off switch problem! See if you can "jump out" the switch. If it works that way, replace the switch!

I own a Pro 2036 and could not find a manual on line,But I did find a manaul for a Uniden BC 890xlt witch is the same scanner..That manaul is the same as RS pro-2036.

1. From the

Main Menu screen, tap the Settings icon .

2. Tap

System.

Setting Languages

1. Access the

System Settings menu (above).

2. Tap

Languages.

3. Tap on the desired language.

4. Tap the back arrow .

5. The Magellan RoadMate receiver will reboot if you change the language.

Setting Auto Power

Auto power is the duration of time that the Magellan RoadMate receiver remains idle before turning off

automatically.

1. Access the

System Settings menu (above).

2. Tap

Auto Power.

3. Tap on the desired duration.

4. Tap the back arrow .

Setting Brightness

1. Access the

System Settings menu (above).

2. Tap

Brightness.

3. Tap in the brightness slider to set the brightness of the display.

4. Tap the back arrow .

The

Dim on Battery Power option will prolong battery life by dimming the display while using internal battery

power. Check to turn this option on.

Setting the Time Format

1. Access the

System Settings menu (above).

2. Tap

Time Format.

3. Tap on 24 Hours or 12 hours with am/pm.

4. Tap the back arrow .

Selecting the Time Zone (daylight savings on/off)

1. Access the

System Settings menu (above).

2. Tap

Time Zone.

3. Check Auto Time Zone or select your time zone from one of the cities in the list.
4. Tap the back arrow .

Best thing to do is throw it away and get a different brand!

With the GPS turned ON; slide the power switch to turn it OFF and continue to hold it for another 20+ secs. Release the switch and restart the GPS, hopefully it should be reset.

Many auto accessory power outlets are only active when the ignition key is on or in the accessory position. It won't keep the GPS powered in the off position.

I called Magellen, described the problem and they said return the unit and they would send me a new one.
