De6850 error Two lights flash and it makes a humming noise but wont budge

SOURCE: E40 error door light flashing and clicking noise

E40: Door open, Interlock, wiring or main PCB most likley going to be faulty door interlock.

Turn the power off, unplug the machine and take the top off your machine and on the front right of the machine there is a plastic case with lots of wires.

Put the wires out one block at a time, keep putting them in and out, this will help the connection to seat.

Try the machine again and the problem should be solved.

If not you may need a new board.

Assuming that both freezer and refrigerator temperatures have risen and the humming sound that you heard was followed by a sudden click more than likely the start device on the compressor has gone bad. This is a common problem with all Whirlpool refrigerators (KitchenAid is Whirlpools top of the line product and suffers the same problem).

Unplug the device from AC power outlet, and replug it after five minutes. If the problem perists, the motor of the unit is faulty, and should be replaced.

Hello,
You seem to have a blockage,have you checked the filters lately.Also check the drain hose and the pipe that the drain hose goes into,if they are clear then the blockage is down in the bottom of the dishwasher in the pipes or the drain pump.

Please do the following checks 
  1. nspect the drain hose for kinks
  2. Test the timer control
  3. Test the lid switch (some models)
  4. Inspect the water pump
  5. Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
  6. Inspect the motor coupler

Can you reseat the lamp?  Don't forget to unplug the TV of course, but sometimes the connection between the lamp and TV degrade due to heat contraction and cooling.  Some TV's provide an error code by having LED's flash a certain way, is this what you mean by lights flashing?

Motor noise and flashing light
The problem you may be having is an ice build up. Defrost the unit and take out the back wall of the freezer. Cut the insulation off as in the picture and it will solve the problem. What happens is a little bit of water gets trapped and then over time it becomes a massive ice ball that can block the fan. First you hear the ticking noise and then you get ER FF error.

Humming noise
humming is the motor powered up but not turning. burning smell is the motor overheating. cause may be the motor capacitor which is a cheap part. try replecing it and hope thge motor survived. could also be a foreign object in the pump impellor
