How do I charge the battery and how long does it last ?

* Check your warranty and call for service.

*** The following is for information only.***
* Most power loss and low power stem from blown fuse(s), broken or burnt wires and/or connectors. Locate and replace bad wire.
* Problems with charge or gradual power loss is usually the battery system. Since this is most likely a Lead Acid battery (flooded or Gel) then those need to be checked (load tested) and replaced. Do not expect these batteries to last forever. Most will last about +200 charge cycles. Less if the battery is stressed (deep discharged,High temperatures, Over charged).
* Lead Acid batteries concider a charge cycle to be when ever charging. Even if the charger is removed prior to a full charge and discharged, this is still a charge cycle. Short charging is not recommnded. Top off charge is a cycle charge.
* Follow your MFR charging instructions.

* you may want to upgrade to Lithium Ion Battery Pack (with BMS) which will have a higher cycle rate (+1000)

Since it's brand new, return it. You didn't say what type of tablet it is, but they should last for many hours on a charge.

The battery is no longer good. You will need to buy a new battery. Don't over charge your batteries. They all vary. Expensive cordless tools will come with a charger that shuts off automatic to prevent over charging. I own cheap Skill drills that has served me well. These batteries lasted over 11years. It makes no sense. They should not have lasted more than 5 yrs., even 2yrs. I make sure I never over charged them, but they should not last that long. Freaky. Your battery is dead forever, sorry. I have others just like yours waiting to be recycled.

really depends on use and charging habits. If it is not lasting atleast half the amount than it use to last, then you need a new battery.
What i always tell my customers, is that when you first get a device with a rechargeable battery in it, charge it up and then let it die completely for the first time, then charge it up all the way again. This initial stretch of battery life will make a huge difference. Also try and get into the habit of charging it only when it needs to be charged. The less number of times the better

the battery sounds like it has bad battery memory and needs to be replaced. Before you replace it look for software to give you the battery's status (how much charge it holds out of how much it should hold by design. for exaple i am using ubuntu linux and my battery reads

now that is my bad battery for staying at home and leaving it plugged in all the time (that kills the battery) i have another battery that reads

Capacity: 97% (Good)
Current charge: 38.8 Wh
Last full charge: 47.5 Wh
Design charge: 48.8 Wh
Charge rate: 5.5 W

it is my battery for travel. the difference between the two is that the battery that reads Capacity: 29% (Poor) only lasts about 40 minutes but the battery that reads Capacity: 97% (Good) lasts 3 hours. you probably have a low Capacity.

Charging duration does not connect to battery lasting duration in any way.Optimal charging time is 3 to 4 hours.your battery will drain soon if you keep your touchscreen pressed continuously in your jeans pocket.Keep bluetooth switched off. Reduce the brightness of your mobile display. Play music threw headphone rather than using loudspeakers.

Yeah It Sounds like the battery is just had its last charge they only last for about 300 charges a piece i would get a new one go for at least a six cell they will last longer...Let me know if this works for you.

Dave you are correct. You should never over-charge anything like a Roomba, Cel Phone, etc. That will kill a bettery very quickly.

the regulator is in the alternator. it sounds like it isn't charging the battery anymore. battery voltage should be around 14 volts with engine running. also check connections at alternator to battery. have seen corrosion here keep the battery from charging

Sounds like you've got a defective model. Mine lasts about 4-5 days before I have to charge it.
