How do I connect my turntable? I have tried using the slots for auxiliary, with an Onkyo turntable with standard plugs. Do I need a special adaptor?

Auxiliary will work but its not intended for phono ( record player ).
The turn table doesn't have a amp so the sound will be lower.
Where as auxiliary is designed for digital connection ( mp3 Laptops etc ) that have they own pre amp.
all the turn tables I have use need to be Earthed to the amp via a earthing tag or you will get a bad sound.
Hope this helps.

Speaker volume is too low in my turntable setup. How can I fix it?

remove rca plugs from speaker wires and wire the speakers to speaker connections on the back of receiver. The receiver may already have a phono input for a turntable.

When connecting AT-LP120 Audio technica turntable to Onkyo stereo receiver TX-8140 I get distorted sound - the turntable came with set cables installed to connect. How do I resolve this problem

hi,

instead of plugging your turntable into "phono in" on the amp just try a regular auxilary input like aux ,video, or cd. sounds like the turntable output isnt like the old ones and may be just a regular output.

How do I connect and hear a technics SLB210 turntable to a DV250 sound system

The signal output from the turntable is very low and needs a special input which most modern sound systems no longer have.
You will need to connect your turntable to a preamplifier.
The output from this preamplifier then goes to the auxiliary input ("AUX") of your sound system.
A good starting page to look around for a turntable preamplifier is here:

Good luck!

Why can't i get my sony turntable to work with my pioneer vsx-d608 receiver

hi
does your receiver have phono in? if yes check at rear mm/mc switch. if not, you need a mm or mc adaptor between turntable and receivers line. mm is movingmagnet and mc is moving coil, guess your sony has moving coil pick-up. the sound signal has to be powered up to use standard auxiliary inputs. hope it helps a bit

Iv connected a set of citronic pd1 dj turntable to aux on my onkyo av amp and the sound is really low volume is set at max.if this is because iv got the wrong kind of amp what connections would i need on...

Turntables that have magnetic cartridges must be connected to an amp that has a "phono" connection otherwise the sound will be too low. I have an Onkyo and that doesn't have one, so I suspect yours doesn't. So what you need is what's called a cartridge pre-amp. This will amplify the signal to the Onkyo. Search online, try Amazon for one.

Need Adaptor connect DJ Tech Turntable to Sony Mini Hi Fi MHCRG495

The USB turntable is likely a USB data connection and not a USB audio connection, so you will need to take the audio output from your Mac G4 to your Sony Mini Hi Fi...

You will likely need a stereo mini-plug (3.5mm or 1/8-inch) to stereo RCA plug cable (red and white RCA plugs). This is often referred to as a "stereo Y-cable."
