I was washing a load of clothes in cold water like I usually do. And I found dirt coming through the drum holes onto the clothes after the final rinse. Tried to wash them again, but the clothes just got dirtier. I don't know what to clean or check to fix the problem. All the other functions of the washer seems to be working normally. It's an old kenmore top loader 60 series.

there are two ways of fixing this problem
1. there is a product called CANETAN RINSE it cleans all the nasties out of your machine while you wash
2. an oldey but a goody is vinegar instead of fabric softner as it has a tendensy to gum up machines more often than anything else
instead of using fabric softner try using disinfectant it does less damage to your machine and also the same job as fab soft
