Re: downloadin pics to my desktop!

Try to uninstall and install the camera driver.

Connect camera to the USB port at the back of the CPU of your PC.

Turn on the camera.

Select Computer on the screen of your camera.

Go to My Computer.

Click Removable Disk.

Click DCIM.

Click 100SSCAM.

If there is no Removable Disk on My Computer, go to Device Manager and look for Unknown Device and click on it.

I can't download pics to computer. I connect the camera, turn it on, pics come up, select pics, click download and nothing happens. Zoombrowser used to come up and with new computer, it doesn't...

Two possible solutions: 1. After the pictures come up, right-click on one of them and select "open with" and choose Zoombrowser from the list. 2. Use a card reader. Create a folder on your desktop and when the pictures show up after connecting the card reader, simply select all (highlight them) and drag and drop to the folder. From there, you can import them to Zoombrowser. typrice_188.jpg

We have not been able to download our pics...using the cord or a card reader...getting very frustrated. The eos utility screen comes up but nothing else happens.......

Create a folder on your desktop. Insert your card in the card reader and the other end into a USB port. The icon will either appear on your desktop, windows explorer may offer to open it for you, or it may appear in "my computer" as a removable drive. Wherever it is, select the pics and drag and drop them into the folder you created.

Stoplight shows even though all pics have been downloaded

Do you happen to be on a Mac when you downloaded the photos? If so, make sure to empty the trash (while still having the camera plugged in) after you delete them.

Internal memory??

Highly recommend that you consider using a card reader to download you pictures. You insert the camera's memory card into the reader, and then insert the reader into a USB port on your computer. The card then shows up as a hard drive so that you can simply copy/paste or drag your picture files onto your computer. Card readers are much more faster in downloading pics, do not require the use of your camera's batteries, and provide much more reliable downloading of the pictures (fewer errors). They're also VERY inexpensive these days. Here are some examples of CF card readers from Amazon:

Also, if the card has somehow become corrupted, take no more pics until you've recovered the photos. Take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

You will also need to use a card reader with this software. Finally AFTER you've recovered your photos, recommend formatting the card IN YOUR CAMERA to prevent this from happening again. Note that formatting will totally erase your card. Turn on the camera, press the menu button, select the tools menu. Go down to the selection that states your CF card's memory capacity and select it. Then follow the formatting prompts.
