Water leaks under freezer door onto floor periodically. Has for several years. Don't know what sets it off. Just comes and goes. Can't see exactly where its coming from. Can't afford to call repair man either. Any help ??

same problem, water on floor under freezer side occasionally. ice forms on floor under basket, which builds up to interfere with basket moving. The unit is 6-7years old.(not this model number) freezing is fine inside it. I cleared stuff away from the vent holes internally. the unit is completely sealed on back.

I have the same problem with my kenmore. With mine the issue is the defroster. If you pull out the bottom basket you might notice the coils are red hot as in my case. Not sure how to fix this???

There is layer of ice that has formed at the bottom of the freezer side. Due to this there is a leak of water that appears every two or three days. I cleaned the layer of ice once and after 2 or 3 weeks...

Sounds like the drainage hole is blocked with ice, i normally take the back cover off the freezer and at the bottom you will see a build up of ice at the bottom, turn freezer off and carefully remove as much ice as you can, then pour some boiling water over the excess ice and in the middle you will see a drain hole make sure water then freely flows down drain hole. Other than that you could try switching your freezer off for 24 hours to clear ice.

Maytag side by side fridge freezer leaking water

Your drain plug within the evap area of the freezer is frozen, turn frig off, let sit for day or two with doors open. Once all ice has melted then take rear freezer evap cover off and pour water into try and make sure it drains, if not then unplug drain. This is usually caused by a defrost heater bad or unit not going into defrost when it's supposed to, may be main board.

Here I am going to give you a lot of information. Because of the leaking your defrost condensate drain is most likely the reason. All on the page below may not be for your situation and some refrigerators do this over a period of time and the the water has no were to go but the freezer during defrost. Freezer leaking water

My Whirlpool has been filling the bottom under the crispers with water and leaking out the vents (?) from the freezer down into the fridge compartment. I finally caught it today being rather loud, probably in a defrost cycle, and it was positively POURING in the fridge. After some more research on this site I removed the freezer bottom tray (1/4" ratchet needed) and found a layer of 1/2" thick ice under the tray. My guess is the drain hole iced up. Removed all the ice from under the tray and on the metal drain run in the back (danger, seemed sharp) and put it all back together. I didn't try to pour hot water down the drain yet, thinking positive thoughts that the drain itself isn't iced all the way to the tray near the floor. Will watch it carefully.

Side by side leaks out front door on freezer side

try checking the tube that water drains out , it could be plugged with crumbs or old partials of food and causing the problem, This has happened with my fridge at one time , affecting the defrost cycle of the freezer and dripping water out of the door, The tube was located under the crisper in the back of the inside of my fridge, Hope this solves your problem

Ice build up in bottom of freezer

Check the ice maker. sometimes they get cracked a will leak water into the freezer compartment. Also check the ice maker fill tube for leaks or someone could have spilled something. Although this is tipical of a clogged drain. What happens is when the fridge go into derfost, it will melt all the frost that is on the evaporator, turning it into water. The water drains down to a trough under the evaporator and down a drain hole in the trough ( this trough is behind the evaporator cover ) Removing the melted frost from the freezer. If that drain is clogged, the water cannot leave the freezer. Then when the fridge starts back up ,it will freez the water that was not drained. After repeated defrosting the water will fill this trough and run off into the bottom of the freezer to be frozzen when the fridge starts to cool again.

Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

A bad freezer door seal causes condensation that freezes at the bottom of the unit. I realize you said the drip pan was full of ice, but if the drain is clogged, that will happen. If that unit has the pan at the very bottom, condensation can also contribute to this.
