After i have riden my 250 sx 2009 once then turn it of then start again after about 1 minute it just dies and the only way to start again is to change spark plug but even though it just hapens again after a few minutes my mixture to my gas has been 60:1 and im abit worried that it may result in piston wear if i go leaner. what do i do i have spare jets that came with the bike but im not sure on with 1 i should change.
It sounds like you have some carburetor issues. I would start by taking the bowl of, which is the bottom cover of the carb, and making sure it is cleaned and free from debris. While in there it is a good idea to remove the mainjet and pilot jet along with the float and float needle. If there is a piece of debris inside the bowl area, it could get stuck between the float needle and seat. This can cause the needle to stick open which will allow fuel to dump into the engine through the intake which will flood the motor out. Another thing you may want to check is the recommended ratio you mix your fuel and oil to. Most manufacturers recommend 32:1, but I ran 40:1 back in my 2-stroke racing days. 60:1 sounds a little light on oil to me, but check your owners manual or with KTM or a dealer. A common misconception is that you are fouling plugs from the oil, which is usually not true. The less oil you have mixed in your fuel, the more the "actual" gasoline that the motor consumes per volume of fuel, and that extra gas is what fouls spark plugs. For instance, say your bike consumes 1 gallon of gas. If that gas was mixed at 32:1 that means there was more oil and less gas than if that gallon was mixed at what you call a "leaner" mixture of 60:1 where there is less oil, which means that lack of volume of oil was replaced by more volume of gas to keep that constant 1 gallon that the bike consumed. Therefore, at 60:1, even though the bike still consumed 1 gallon of fuel, it consumed more "raw" gas, which essentially makes ur bike run richer in respects to the gas that is burned, not the oil that is burned.
Usually cleaning the plugs after they have been fouled and using them again is not a good practice. They may still be partially fouled after cleaning them and may not last or perform well. Did you try cleaning the carb and all passages? How much oil do you put on your air filter when you clean it? If you have too much oil on the air filter, that can restrict air flow into the engine and cause it to run rich. I know this may seem silly to ask, but did you leave the choke on? It happened to my buddy once, and he was a mechanic as well!

Check the compression, I dont know what the manufacture calls for the gas oil mixture ,but that sounds too lean..

I have tryied running it to a 40:1 50:1 60:1 and they are all the same but today i am going to try running it on a different oil i am currently running it on castrol tts . Can you tell me if there is a limit to the plug been foweled and cleaned to be used again i have done more than 4 times though it is a new plug it has been working but now nothing so i am wondering if it just stops working after so many times.
