Horizontal lines in avi/divx files lenovo t61

Whenever I play a video file (as in a DivX, avi, etc.--not YouTube or internet vids), in both Winamp and Windows media player and even WinDVD I get horizontal white lines in my video. They are very fine, and they follow the images as they move across the video. Everything else is fine. I reinstalled the video drivers, and that didn't help. Any advice?

Sounds like video codecs problem.

There are to ways to go:
1. (The better in my opinion): forget Winamp and Windows media player, and use Smplayer instead, which uses it's own codecs (and better in all possible ways). You can download it from here.

2. If you'd like to stick with Winamp or Media player, then uninstall any video codecs (not drivers!) from your computer (if there's any), then download and install a proper codec pack, for example: K-lite codecpack (basic is enough) from here.

Hope this helps.

Panasonic DVD S48 - DVD player how to play movies over usb

Yes, I know Panasonic DVD S48, if your movie file is right divx avi movie file, you can directly transfer the divx avi movie file to your usb disk and play on your Panasonic DVD S48, but if your movie files isn\'t divx avi movie file, you have to use a right software to convert your movies to right divx avi movies, then transfer to your usb disk, convert any movies to divx avi movies.

My LG DP122 will play some AVI files from a USB device but not others.

figured this out, lg dp122 uses DivX Home Theater profile, so the technical specs of the video must match that.
Those specs can be found here: http://www.divx.com/files/DivX-Profiles_Tech-Specs.pdf

Any way of dissabling the DivX code so I can Play My own DivX dvd's?

No! these units are pre-programed from the factory, you would need to go online to LG and contact customer support and the technical department to see if this is possible.

I have a portable Kawasaki DVD player. It does not play AVI videos. Tellme what to do please.

This normally depends on what FOURCC the AVI has encoded inside the file.

Look here at my DivX Rox!! facebook group for the correct DivX FOURCC that will normally work on most standalone players on AVI with FOURCC =DIVX or DX50

Most DVD players that have DivX support require these two FOURCC tags, DIV3,DIV4,DIV5 and DIV6 wont always work but sometimes you can change this without re-encoding using a batch FOURCC changer.

As a general rule of thumb even when you change the FOURCC of the AVI you may experience audio lag on the file it is best to convert all AVI's to DivX using the DivX Convertor that is available with the DivX Professional codec costs $19.99 (£13.99) and is well work the money.

I have had some success with Xvid AVI's with FOURCC XVID but with audio lag and video jerks.

Where is the divx player?????

Whan you say you can't find the player, do you mean it won't play DivX? The player itself on the phone only runs when you open a video to watch, from there you can open other vids using the next and rewind buttons. The player on the phone is just geared to open DivX should you have some on your phone. The Player that comes with the suite is pretty laim so download the player from the DivX website for your PC.

AVI formatted files behave as audio only

It is likely that the files are encoded with DIVX, you can download the Divx plugin for windows Media playere here.

watch your options on the install to avoid those pesky toolbars

DVD DOESNOT PLAY REAL PLAYER VIDEO

This model cannot play real player video files your model work on DVD, CD, and on the following compressed file formats:

Compression formats - MPEG1 , MPEG2 , DivX 3.11 , DivX 4.x , DivX 5.x , DivX 6.0

Your player can play only mpeg , avi , and divx, not real player .rm files. I don't think there are many DVD that can play real player files around.

No audio on AVI files

Hi :

I would download virtualdub (free), install a divx convertor (free to some level), and input your original file in virtualdub (file-open file), check the video tab from VDUB, click compression, select divx, and save the file as an .avi file on harddisk of yr computer. If finished, check this avi file with a media player (winamp or so), see if it plays correctly, then transfer the file to your Archos. This will work.

I believe, when you converted, a stray codec was used for audio)
