The oven door is "locked" on my Kenmore slide in electric oven. There is a button on the display that says "oven lockout" that was evidently pushed, but now I can't open my oven. How do I unlock the oven door? The oven is only about 2 years old.

Many Kenmore ovens have a control lock that keeps the oven door locked even when the self-clean cycle has not been in use. This feature is meant to prevent children from opening the door or using the controls on the oven. To cancel the oven lockout, push and hold "Stop" for three seconds. Wait 15 seconds for the oven door to unlock automatically.

Reset
After verifying that the oven lockout feature has been released and waiting at least an hour after a self-clean cycle, if the oven door remains locked, try to reset the oven. Disconnect power to the range, and wait 30 seconds. Restore power and try again. If the door remains locked, disconnect the power and try to reset the circuit breaker or fuse. Contact Kenmore if the door remains locked after both attempts at a power reset at 800-827-6655.

I understand you having trouble getting your oven to work after using the self-cleaning mode. Does any part of the oven work? Confirm a fuse is not blown or a circuit breaker tripped. Test the power outlet with a lamp, hair dryer, etc.
Does "Loc" appear in the display if any button is pushed?
The Oven Lockout feature automatically locks the oven door, prevents most oven controls from being turned ON. Press and hold CLEAR/OFF for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked.

What about child lock? Read user manual or try holding button for 10 seconds, might be two at once.
(I bought a $200 control board and travelled 150 kilometers for that one....)

Test the power outlet with a lamp, hair dryer, etc. Another question, does "Loc" appear in the display if any button is pushed? The Oven Lockout feature automatically locks the oven door, prevents the warmer drawer and most oven controls from being turned ON. If so, press and hold CLEAR/OFF for 3 seconds. Then a beep will sound and LOC will clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked. Does the clock display "Sd" or "dddd"? If so, the clock is in sales demo mode. Press and hold the "BAKE TIME" button for 6 seconds to exit sales demo mode. If this does not prove to be successful, contact a professional to have EOC diagnosed and/or to confirm that there isn't a wiring failure.

You can do this by:
Check the oven display to see whether the screen says "LOC." When "LOC" is displayed, the oven lock is activated and the door cannot be opened. You need to make sure it is locked so you do not mistakenly lock the door.

2 Press and hold the "Stop" button on the oven control panel until "LOC" disappears from the display. Some oven models have a button marked "Oven Lock," which should be used instead of the "Stop" button.

Lock the oven again by pressing and holding the "Stop" or "Oven Lock" button until "LOC" appears in the display

Got the same problem.
Here's a work around: Turn breaker off, second person needs to hold the CANCLE/LOCK button (keep holding it!)
Turn breaker back on and keep holding the button, lock feature may turn on, red lock light stays on, KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTON. At the end you will get a F11 (shorted keypad) warning. It may take up to 20 seconds or more but in my case the red lock light goes off, the dashes disappear and everything is back to normal.
Now here are the bad news. This does not fix the problem (I think it's the EOC). Every time the power goes off the red lock light and dashes will come back. It also may require to people to fix this/work around... but, hey, it doesn't cost anything either...

I had this same issue and consulted the owner's manual. Once on self clean it takes up to 3-4 hours for it to automatically unlock. It is a built in safety feature of the oven.

I have a kenmore self cleaning oven. I Locked it
and have held the cleaning button for 3 secs and
returned the lock lever to unlocked position and the
locking lever in the inner of the oven door is still ingaged i have tryed to manually push the lock with a object you can feel it move over but the door still will not open. door will come out an inch.

I pressed the lock icon on the panel and held it for a few seconds and the display cleared.
