Setting Signal Source

I set signal source to HDMI to get HD signal from cable box. After TV is turned off then later turned on - source reverts to coaxial source. I have to reset the source to HDMI every time tv is turned on. How can I make HDMI the default source.

Please refer the user manual to this TV for details. It sounds that there is a problem to the main system control memory IC to your TV. If so, it might have to be replaced. Contact any service technician.

On my e-motion tv when I switch it on and go onto did it says no signal....help please

Why does my TV say no signal? If your HDTV or Standard TV displays a "No Signal" error message, it may be due to one of the following issues:
  1. Determine how many TV's are affected.
    • If it is one TV, continue to step two.
    • If multiple or all TV's are affected, continue to step five.
  2. Ensure that your HDTV is on the same source/input as your MTS Ultimate TV service.
    1. Press the TV button on your MTS Ultimate TV remote control.
    2. Press the TV/Video button.
    3. Wait 10 seconds.
    4. Repeat steps b and c continually to cycle through all the available source/inputs on your TV until the correct source/input is selected. (ie. HDMI 1, HDMI 2, Component 1, Component 2, etc.) On standard TV's (non HDTV), you may have only 2 choices, TV or Video.
  3. If the source is correct from step two:
    1. Unplug the HDMI cable from your MTS Ultimate TV Set-top Box.
    2. Wait 30 seconds.
    3. Plug the HDMI cable back in.
    4. Wait for the signal to initialize.
    5. Make sure all cables connected on the set-top box and your TV are secure.
  4. If the problem persists:
    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the MTS set-top box.
    2. Wait 60 seconds.
    3. Plug the MTS set-top box back in.
    4. Wait for the signal to initialize.
  5. If you are still experiencing a problem:
    1. Make sure ALL Ethernet and/or Coax cables are securely in place.
    2. Unplug the power from the MTS box labeled 2Wire or Pace as well as the affected set-top boxes.
    3. Wait 60 seconds.
    4. Plug the power back into the MTS box labeled 2Wire or Pace.
    5. Wait for the broadband light to turn a solid green colour.
    6. Plug the power back into the affected set-top boxes.
    7. Wait for the signal to initialize.

Why my jvc television hd61z456 not showing in high definition

What is the signal source that you are watching on your HD61Z456?
The problem you describe usually happens when you aren't using an HD source or have downgraded the signal by the composite input on your TV. (Composite cables only support 480i SD signals.)

You will only see 720p HD content from HD sources, if you use HD compatible inputs. Some OTA channels are also broadcast as only analog signals (usually the -2 and higher sub-channels). If you have cable or satellite, make sure that you have the HD programming and have tuned to the HD version of the channel.

The HDMI and component inputs both support HD signals.

I hope this helps. If you are watching an HD source and the problem persists, I recommend trying new video cables. Next, check if you are getting interference from your devices by using a cable with a Ferrite core. See http://www.monoprice.com/Category?c_id=102&cp_id=10240 for HDMI cables with Ferrite cores. The cores help block interference. If you have very long cable runs, check the behavior with shorter cables between the source and the TV.

(I am assuming you aren't using an SD set top box (VCR, older cable box, low end digital-to-analog converter).)

How can I change the resolution to 720px and above on this television????

What is your signal source and cable type? If your signal is being transmitted by a composite video cable, you need to upgrade the cable to component video or HDMI. (The cable you use depends on the device providing the signal.)

Next you need to set the set top box to an HD signal, if it has that feature. The steps will vary depending on the source. Please add a comment with the source for specific steps. (If you have cable, internet TV or satellite TV, you may need to contact your provider to enable HD programming. Many services charge an extra fee for HD content.)

I hope this helps.

(The source really does matter. My DVD recorder only records SD content. Even though I have the TV set connected to the unit with a component video cable, I don't get HD signal from those recordings or from the Digital-to-Analog OTA converter box that feeds the recorder.)

How to fix my samsung tv

What's the source of the signal for the LN-R328W. The mode not supported message shows up when the source signal is not compatible with the TV. For example: if the source is a computer, use a different monitor to make sure that the refresh rate is 60Hz. Next, turn on the TV and set it to the VGA source before you turn on the computer. (Most modern computers will then see the TV as a monitor and set the correct resolution.) Note: this TV can't support an HDMI signal from a computer. (The signal is different than that for a Blu-ray player or HD set-top box.)
For game stations, you may need to check the manual for the box to set the resolution for your TV.

I hope this helps.

No hd signal on my lg32lc5dc tv

Answer a few questions to try to resolve this issue:

What is signal source for HD you are using? (cable box, sat box, receiver in line, antenna).

Where on the set are you connected? (HDMI, HD component input on rear or?)

Does if not a box used the set have a built in HD tuner?

LC-26DA5U 26 in. HDTV-Ready LCD Television: i connect a hdmi cable 2 my hd cable box - the pic...

The cable box needs to be set to send different signals when using hd tv and standard tv. Usually a good setting would be 720p in hd and 480p in standard. The tv is working fine it is the cable box sending the signal. If you have another hdmi source such as a dvd player you may hook that up to show the tv is working just fine.

Powersurge made my HD setting revert to low def.

Your TV plays High Def material through either Input 4 (uses component cables R,G,B) or through Input 5 (Uses DVI cable).
Today most equipment uses HDMI cable for High Def or it may have a component (RGB) output that you can use. The DVI hookup is best, so you need a HDMI to DVI cable or Component Cables (Red, Green, Blue). You need some source that OUTPUTS High def (ex. 1080i) either through HDMI or component cable. You need to either connect the component cable(R,G,B) from the source to the Input 4 on the TV or connect the HDMI to DVI cable from the source to the Input 5.
You need to set the AV source on the TV to AV5 (if you are using the DVI input) or AV4 (if you are using component cables).
If you want to play Highdef source like Blue Ray then you can just connect the output of the blu ray player to your Tv using either the HDMI to DVI cable or component cable (Red, Green, Blue) and set the TV input to AV5 (for HDMI/DVI) or AV4 (for component).
But if you are trying to get Free High Def from an antenna then you will need to have a component that can OUTPUT high def. The $40 converter boxes don't do this - they simply convert the Digital signal to Analog (non high def). What you need is a High Def TUNER that OUTPUTS High Def. I was looking for one for this same reason and ordered the centronics ZAT 502 HD. But it cost about $80. Then I saw that Tivo had an upgrade deal where I could upgrade my existing Series 2 Tivo to Tivo HD for $99. It has a High Def Tuner in it. So I cancelled my order with Centronics and got the Tivo. In any case if you want Over the air HD you will need a High Def Tuner that will OUTPUT 1080.
