Question about Splendide 2100 Vented Washer-Dryer

1 Answer

Non-operational in RV when Onan generator and Xantrex inverter are on

When powering coach with an Onan 12.5KW Diesel Generator and the Xantrex RS3000 inverter is on, washer/dryer will not function correctly.  The WD2100 power supply is turning on and off causing the unit to not operate correctly.  If coach is on shore power, washer/dryer is functional with inverter on.  If I turn the inverter off, WD2100 functions fine with generator power. I believe that the generator in conjunction with the inverter is inducing noise (3rd order harmonic) back into the AC line that powers the WD2100 and the power supply in the WD2100 can't deal with the noise.  The AC leg that powers the WD2100 is also the same leg that powers the RS3000. This has been a problem since the coach was purchased new in March 07.  Splendide sent me a new modified power supply board which didn't fix the problem.

Are you still under warranty with your RV? If so, take your RV back to them and try to get this problem fixed through them. You know more about electronics than I do (LOL) however, I do believe the RV sales/repair should be taking care of this issue for you.

I on the other hand own the Majestic brand washer and dryer and I am very dissapointed with them. The washer is broken already and is only 15 months old. Ugh!

Good luck, I hope your issue is a simple fix.

AEG Lavamat 60810 keeps stopping and displaying error E50 and some time E70. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Family error code E50 means a problem with the washing motor. Family error code E70 means a problem with the NTC sensor. In my experience, E50 is most common fault in worn carbon brushes. But in any case family error code E50 is shown to the customer. In service mode could be: E51,52,53 and 54. The same applies to family E70 error code that will be displayed in service mode as error code E71 or E74.
E50 error code could be: motor winding, power board, tachymetric generator, motor relay on power board, wiring between motor and power board and wiring between tachymetric generator and electronic.
E70 error code could be: faulty NTC sensor, wrong position of NTC sensor or to much limescale on it and finaly wiring between NTC and electronic.

Dear, We have recently bought a Zanussi ZWF 260 washing machine but it appears that the water doesn't heat up so we can only do cold wash. I do have to say that we are running this washing machine on a...

Hi 6842birgit,

and with the indulgence of ginko....

I can think of only three (3) possibilities why the water pre-heater of your Zanussi ZWF 260 spin washing machine is not functioning as expected:
1. as ginko has posted, electronic or electrical and therefore would require a replacement unit from your dealer since it would be under warranty;
2. supply of generator is not compatible - even if your generator is rated at 12KVA and this washing machine is consuming 2.3KW, the generator must be able to conform to the washing machines requirements of 220~230VAC @ 50HZ; and/or
3. grounding system - most heaters and/or high wattage appliances/devices require some sort of grounding system. This system differs from region to region but the common denominator is there should be a grounding system, and that includes the source, which is the generator in your case.

If for whatever reason you would opt for a on-site remedy or a semi-temporary work around rather than return the unit to the dealer for a replacement or require that they provide service personnel, pls post back.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have the IWB6103 Indesit washing machine. The problem is it will not run when the generator is running. The generator is 27Kva and it can run the whole house but when we try to use the washing machine...

I would avoid using the washer. You could burn the control panel or something else. The electronic is very sensitive. It's possible that your Hz from generator are not 60Hz, or your voltage is fluctuating, another possibility is that the wiring is reversed (hot and neutral switched).

27 KVA is a huge generator and should work just as well as the grid. The only thing I can think of is the startup current, which can easily be 5 times the running current is playing havoc.

You might try tightening up all your lugs and screws in your panel. A loose neutral can create some truly weird problems.

Generator vs mains power

Sometimes power is not clean enough for electronics. Other times the starting current is too high. You maybe able to make it work through some sort of isolating transformer or choke to clean up the power. Look into those suggestions. Also have you tried not plugging the machine in until the generator is up and running. The startup might be messing with the electronics.

Your problem is a bearing of inner tub may also need spider assembly caused by overloading using non HE detergent 0r to much soap if noise gets worst it will take out seal and will start leaking thru-back side under stater motor that you call generator
Remove stater drum by holding inner drum and taking rear nut of stater drum after removing drum UN plug wire connections remove 4 bolts holding coil . then remove front of washer remove all counter waits remove all bolts from outer tub remove shocks remove springs and drain and vent hoses pull out the whole basket from unit pull tub in half remove inner tube Pop out both bearings back and front replace with new bearing and seal reverse back together same way you take apart may take 2 people heavy stuff

My power washer has A 5 HP, 7 AMP 3 PHASE MOTOR. I am starting a mobile power wash business, and need to be able to run it off a generator with 220v power. can I find a motor to change it over with, and...

You never mentioned the voltage on your present power washer except it is a 5HP, 7 Amp , 3 phase one. There are no issues if the washer is 220-230 mains power and all you need is a generator which can deliver about 10-15 amps at 220 volt.

Can your washer front load run off a portable generator power

You probably fried the control board. The older machines would work fine on a generator but the newer ones are sensitive to power fluctuations.

Washer Power Requirements

Hello kgodsave,

You are not really going to run everything in the house while using your washing machine, isn't it? If your machine runs on 1 horse power (HP) motor (which is unlikely), thats already 746 watts. say you are running some little wattage appliances say total of 1,000 watts. Double that figure and you get 2kw. A 2kva to 3kva generator would be plenty clearance for unexpected load.
