My fans in my 2004 dodge straus coupe are NOT kicking on while idling , havn't heard them in a while.... So we thought maybe it was the relay located under the hood, well when I turned on my A/C the fans automatically started blowing, so now I know the fans work and it wasn't the Relay, is there another relay for the fan while just driving with no Ac on? im confused, and i am NOT overheating, but my antifreze is evaporating NO LEAKS whatsoever....
SOURCE: 2004 starus coupe fans?
yes, the fan working with the AC is for the AC and the other fan is for the cooling system of engine. Two aeperate systems since the AC condensor generates heat and needs constant vcooling and the engine fan is only needed whenn the engine is at low speed and idle..Over 35 mph, neither fan is needed due to air forced through radiator.. The engine fan will kick on only when needed to control engine temp. If ac fan fails to come on the ac may lose some efficiecy and the engine temp may rise a little. The engine fan will handle it. good luck
SOURCE: the hood release isnt working. how can we open the
Hope this is not too late. I just worked on this exact car and problem. If the cable is broken upstream from the in car release handle here is my solution: The Stratus has four grill panels. Remove the screws from the upper two panels. The panels have a plastic rivet at the very top which can't be removed unless the hood is open so bend the panels up to gain access. With a flash light look through the grill openings and find the latch. The latch has three 12mm bolts holding it in. The two outside bolts are easily removed through the grill openings. The third bolt is tricky because it is lower and dead center to the grill. It is not in alignment with the openings. It is hard to even see it but with a long extension, universal joint and 12mm socket, it is possible to get to it and remove it. I got to it through the passenger side grill opening. With all the bolts removed, the hood opened with the unbolted latch still attached to it.
