Question about Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum
I just had repair work done and suction is good, but self propell not working. Any thoughts before I lug it back to repair shop?
You can order the lever for the transmission on line for about $16.00. It comes as a cable and lever assembly. I just took the top cover off and replaced the lever without doing the cable. The reason ours broke is because we lifted the vacuum by the handle without the self propel bing turned off, this pulls on the actuator and breaks it.

Rdaussi: How did you remove the top cover. I hav the same problem with my Hoover. I picked it up without locking the self-propel switch to the off position. I have ordered the part, but can't figure how to remove the top cover. HELP.

Had the exact problem as bdelany2000, exact. Turned out to be the flat drive belt was stretched. It didn't appear to be the problem but once I got a new one installed, it worked like it had boosters on it.
