Check the two electrical contacts on the ink cartridge for small marks, which should appear if the ink cartridge was installed correctly. If the electrical contacts do not have small marks: 1. Re-install the ink cartridge, making sure you press down on it until it clicks into position. 2. Remove the black ink cartridge, then check the two electrical contacts on the cartridge again for small marks. Repeat if necessary. 3. Re-install the ink cartridge.

Hi Alan I think it is the cartridge that is causing your issue but I cant promise that it is.I can tell you from many years experience it very rarely is an issue with the printer breaking it is 99% of the time inferior consumables causing printers to fail, and sometimes wrecking printers so even when the customer does use good consumables it is too late and the damage is done, but we can't be sure of anything unless we start with basics and get 100% brand new Original Equipment Manufacturers carts (OEM) and stick them in. (no I don't work for Lexmark;)

Good job in re-seating the cartridges into the printer. Try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if your other cartridge has gone bad.

The Lexmark X6650 gives an error: Right cartridge incorrect. This is a new original cartridge I've just installed. The electronic part on the printer is clean and the electronic part on the cartridge...

  1. Remove the print cartridges, and close the cartridge carrier lids.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
  4. If the button_power_0.jpg button is not lit, press button_power_0.jpg.
  5. Reinsert the print cartridges.
If the error does not reappear, the problem has been corrected.
If the problem reappears, one of the cartridges is not working properly. Continue with the following procedure to determine which cartridge is not working properly.
  1. Remove the print cartridges, and close the cartridge carrier lids.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.

  6. If the error:
    • Reappears, replace the black (or photo) print cartridge with a new one.
    • Does not reappear, reinsert the color print cartridge.
  7. If the error reappears, replace the color print cartridge with a new one.

I have a Lexmark X4650 wireless printer that for 1 year has been working perfectly after each cartridge (blank and white Lexmark 36 or Colour Lexmark 37) I come to change the colour cartridge this time...

If you're using genuine Lexmark cartridges and you've already tried rebooting your printer and reseating the color cartridge in the ink cartridge carrier, then it could be a faulty color cartridge. Your cartridge may need to be replaced from the retail store where you bought it from. If it's beyond the return period, in that case, you'll need to contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

Dell 1320c printer error 093-973 "Black cartridge is either missing or not fully inserted into the printer." I've replaced cartridge with four new (known good) cartridges. I've tryed the reset button. It does not recognize the black cartridge. I own two 1320c printers and all four new black cartridges work in the other printer.

It keeps giving the alert wrong cartridge and wont print.I installed for the 1st time ink power cartridge instead of canon's and it won't do nothing........... these cartridge are half price but look...

Wrong cartridge refers to the printhead and not the inks. This machine, when the printhead goes bad gives that error. A new printhead is around $60.00 for that machine. QY6-0064-000.

Canon MPC5500 using an Apple M3240 blk cartridge???

May be the same cartridge, but several brand name cartridges have computer chips is them that may not recognize other brand name cartridges, even though the cartridges may look identical.
Canon use to make all of the apple printers back in the day when apple actually sold name brand printers. That been awhile though... long while. The apple cartridge has to be really old stock.
I would take it back and request the name brand cartridge or at least a generic one that says it is compatible with your printer.
Hope this helps.

Ink compatibility

Unfortunately most printers are cartridge specific. Many of these cartridges are nearly identical, but one small protrusion will prevent one from working in a different but nearly identical printer. Sorry man, I think they do it like that just to make it a royal pain!

Cartridge error

How I solved this problem was, I took out the color cartridge (which seem to be the one giving the error message) and worked only with the black ink (and chose print black and white )

My color ink cartridge had been refilled at Walgreens. The Black ink cartridge is an original Lexmark
