My EPSON STYLUS 740 printer stopped printing black

My EPSON STYLUS 740 printer stopped printing black but the color worked fine. The black ink cartridge was brand new so we tried cleaning the print heads with alcohol and water and it eventually printed in black perfectly again but then the color stopped printing entirely. We tried cleaning the heads again but it still won't print in color at all. What's up with it? ANY IDEAS?
