Re: my htc fall in the water

I rinsed mine under the faucet once and had to immediately disassemble it and use a blowdryer/oven to slowly dry it out, it began working again

Htc 8s water damaged?

It is a water demage - with using to quickly you made it bad, I guess with pressing the screen you moved the water.

I would say ... give it another dry (smile)

Open the rear, take the batterie out ... mean let the mobile breath ... then leave it on a warm, but not hot place ... it has to stay on the side. We want that the water in the case vabours troughthrough the side buttos within the time.

Hello i have a htc dream also know as G1 it accidentally sliped in water i observed that phone is vibrating but it is not showing any display on the screen please do help me

Hi srinath,

I see that you are having issues with you HTC G1.

You mentioned that it still vibrates but that is a function on the baterry, you mentioned that you do not see anything on the LCD screen anymore at this point, If I may ask how long ago did your HTC g1 fall in the water? letting it sit down for a couple days and have it dry may not be an option to see if it will work or not, also having to turn it ON and not sure if the insides are already dry is as well not advisable turning the unit ON may cause the system to short if it is still wet from the inside.

I suggest that you bring the unit to a local service center that can service your HTC G1, the unit may already have experienced a short on the LCD the reason why you do not see anything on it at all.

I do not have details nor the manual to repair or open your HTC not even online.

I do apologize.

Have a nice day,

My HTC Touch mobile got lightly wet and i didn't noticed it immediately.i tried to use it,it got switched off and not turning on again.Even,i didn't remove the battery for couple of hours.what can i d

I have fixed a few electronics devices (IPOD< ghettoblaster, radio) that have gotten wet. All using the same approach. Hopefully this will help you:

1) First things first - get the battery out.
2) Dry off what you can.
3) If you are tech saavy, open the unit up and use a hair dryer or put it under a lamp for a few hrs to dry it off. If you can, take as much apart as possibe as the water likely got into all spaces.
4) The most important part is that you will have to make sure that all contact surfaces are clean and do not have oxidation on them. This was the single-most important thing I looked for and fixed. Especially contact points where the battery terminals contact the main unit. If the metal looks tarnished, get a cloth and buff the terminals. If that does not work, use rubbing alcohol on them. If water has gotten under the keypad, you will have to do the same there. Once clean, leave it apart to ensure it all gets dry.
5) When you are confident that all the water has been removed, put it back together, put the battery in and try it. Dont forget to make sure the battery has a charge as well.

Good luck.

HTC diamond dropped in water

Try using a hairdryer on it. Open it up as far as you can without voiding your warranty. Don't let it get too hot but the moisture is inside and you may be able to get it to dry out in a couple of days.

My htc tilt stopped workng.

I've seen this on the 8525 which is the same basic model (different processor and few different features) as the 8925 (Tilt).

Most likely it's a bad mini-USB port on the phone. You can check this by replacing the phone's battery with one that is known to be fully charged.

As for water damage, the only way to know is to check the water damage sticker.
