had to switch off computer manually as it would not respond. I tried con alt del but it didnt work. when i switched it back on it went to blue screen and chckdsk it completed so far and stopped responding again. had to turn back off and skip chckdsk, looked for help and found you. can you help ?

I connected simple drive but can not use it as it does not appear as external drive in MY computer

I recently have that kind of problem just a few days ago... I suspected a new virus... I scanned the hard disk but didn't find any maybe its new... so I have made a back-up of the files in it (burn them on a CD/DVD) then re-installed the entire system... so far my computer works fine now. You could try the "system restore" to fix the problem but if it doesn't work. I think the only way is to re-install it, just don't forget to get all your important files.
