How do you remove the rear door panels on 1997 pathfinder

The rear doors are stuck shut, door handles do not work, inside or out. Trying to remove the door panels while the doors are shut has presented a problem. I found 2 screws in the panel, 1 in the door latch area and the other under the armrest. Have removed them but the panel still does not move. Any suggestions on where to lift, push, or pry the panels to remove them so I can look at the latch mechanism behind the panels to unlock/unlatch the 2 rear doors.

Remove the trim around your interior door handle then pull on the metal rod that is connected to the handle, and the door should open

SOURCE: Trying to remove door panel. Seems stuck behind door handle.

Under armrest are two large philips screws. remove these and the panel will fall off.

Alternatively, one screw may be acccessed from the top down on the arm rest, remove small access circle, or tray insert.

SOURCE: How do I remove driverside inside door panel ?

door panel is holding by dozen plastic push pins.
strat from the button. use a screw driver or putty knife. pull the panel towards you. be careful not to damage the push pins. go around the panel toward the door hinger then the otheer direction toward the lock.once you have panel seperated from the door. push up the panel to clear the glass. (it is easier if the window is all the way down). pull back the plastic (don't destory it). you need to put that back later. now can get access to the galss and what ever else you are looking for.

SOURCE: Removing manual window handle at door panel

Uses a "c" clip to secure window handle. Requires a special clip removal tool, that can be purchased at the parts store. Hope this helps

How to install rear door handle on a 2006 nissan pathfinder

Check on youtube for videos on it. You will have to remove the inner door panel-the hardest part-to get to it. Then take off the latch rods-unclip them and remove the two screws or bolts holding the old handle to the door frame, then as you remove it, work the latch rods out of their respective holes.

Nissan pathfinder problems

Check childproof lock if you can open it from the inside, but usually the connection between the handle and the lock for the outside door handle breaks.
if you can't open the door using either inside or outside door handles, go to a locksmith, auto electrician or a Nissan dealer or risk severely damaging the interior door panelling trying to do this yourself...
Please get back to us with the solution you found worked as it may help someone else in the future, thanks.

Passenger door is locked shut and will not open

if its the front door and not working from inside or outside then prob a faulty lock actuator, these a sealed and will need a new one. if only not working from the inside remove the inner handle and check if the handle or cable is broken. if its the rear door, could be the child lock is on, the switch can be seen with the door closed and can be pushed with a screwdriver from the inside. the rear doors can break the inner handle, the outer handle and the cable for the actuator. need to remove the trim and inspect all these.

Rear pontiac grand am door stuck

I have a 2002 pontiac grand am with both power windows and door locks. Everything else works except the lock assembly on the rear driver side rear door latch. I have removed the inside panel , aboth rods are connected. all power is disconnected to that door. I moved both of the rods correctly and the door will slightly open but that is all. How can I get it to release so I can repair or replace the latch and lock if nescessary ? I had the same problem only reversed with the frond door it would not close but after some trying I fixed that problem.

Ford explorere rear door will not open

check the door handle in side door panel there is a rod that goes into the door handle that might have fallen out of it or more likely broken the door handles at a junk yard are about 5 dollars if you take off make sure it function that none of the teeth of the handle are broken and and make sure you have the right or left door handle it will be marked on inside of interior door handle . this handle slides forward towards the front of vehicle for removal then turn to remove rod from handle.
