1st of all, u need to upgrade/update your WinXP to SP2 or higher, or else your quickcam driver won't support. Then get the latest driver from the Logitech website to install into your system.

Skype kernel32

Skype v6.6.0.106 is the last version which supports XP SP2. If you try install newer version, you will need SP3 installed, or you will get the kernel32 problem "Failed to get proc adress for getLogicalProcessorInformation (KERNEL32.Dll)".

If you don't want to install SP3 for your XP, here is a work around for you to run Skype with XP SP2.
1. Download Skypesetupfull.exe v6.3.30.105;
2. Uninstall your current version of Skype from Control Panel;
3. Block the website download.skype.com in your router or in the
Host file;
4. Delete any auto downloaded skypesetup.msi in %Temp%
folder;
5. Install Skype v6.3.30.105.
Done.

for 32 bit or 64 bit system
  • There's no SP3 for the 64-bit version of Windows XP. If you're running the 64-bit version of Windows XP with SP2, you have the latest service pack and will continue to be eligible for support and receive updates until April 8, 2014. To find out what version you're running, see Is my PC running the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows?

  • you need to have other service packs installed before sp3 can be installed

    You can try installing it in "Compatability Mode" for XP SP2 and Run As Administrator.
    Windows Vista or Windows 7, has problems running some older versions of applications, just because so much has changed under the hood from Windows XP days.
    To configure the compatibility mode for an application, just locate the installation directory and right click on the .exe, selecting Properties from the menu.
    Select the Compatibility tab: Set it for "XP SP2"
    You can actually hoose to run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode, or even all the way back to Windows 95 compatibility.
    Probably the most useful setting to start off with would be to disable the visual themes and desktop composition, if you can’t get things working. If you are trying to run a video game, you will often need to choose “Run this program as an administrator”. You’ll have to play around with it, but most likely you can get your application working this way.
