Inializing forever

this problem is usually caused by an eio card in the printer, ( jet direct card or hard disk), first thing to do is to remove these cards and reboot with only the power cable connected to the printer, once this reboots if the printer reaches a ready state print a test page directly from the printer, if this prints fine, then the actual printer hardware is fine, then it is a matter of rebooting with the jet direct installed, if the printer hangs problem with the card needs replaced, if this works fine, them do the same thing with the hard disk,

Computer won't communicate with printer

Make sure that the printer driver you are using is compatible with your version of windows. If so, open all printers in "control panel" and make sure that this printer is the preferred printer and not an old one you might still have installed.

Hpdeskjet f380 printer

With most printer you have to install the drivers and software before plugging in the printer. if you have not tried this unplug your printer and uninstall all software and drivers from your pc. reboot and install drivers then it should ask during install to plug printer in, if not wait until all drivers and software has finished and reboot again. wait ten minutes after reboot then plug printer in, it should then find its software. Hope this helps

one solution is turn off your printer, and reboot your system, after rebooting, turn on your printer again. If that doesn't work try re-installing the printer drivers be sure to turn off the printer and reboot the system afterwards to refresh the system.

Dont know much about computers...

On Windows XP, start/control panel/add or remove programs/find your printer software/click on change/remove and remove.

Reboot.

start/printers & faxes/find your printer/right click on it/delete

unplug the printer

Reboot

once the pc has rebooted, plug in the printer. Windows should find the printer and ask for a driver. Insert your software CD and try again!
