I have taken the back off and I believe I have located the fuse..if it's the 5amp 120v one, the yes I have found it...I am now off to buy a new fuse.. Hopefully this fixes it....I will let you know !

Thanks for your help. We have thrown 2 or 3 TVs away in the past that have done this same thing, we just assumed it would be cheaper to buy a new one, however all the other TVs were smaller tv's  and not as expensive as this one.

Ok, i replaced the fuse  , and yes the fuse was blown, However....as soon as I plugged the tv in after replacing the fuse, it blew again.....so the blonde that I am, I replaced the fuse yet again........and yet again when I plugged the tv in , the fuse blew again.   So, now my question is..what could be causing the fuse to blow everytime its replaced and plugged in; and will this be worth fixing?

You could hear the fuse blow and see a spark just as soon as the TV was plugged in.  the first time I just heard it because I had already put the cover back on , but the second time I plugged it in without putting the cover on, and there was definatly a spark.

thanks again for all of your help...

If you feel comfortable taking the cover off the back, check the fuse that should be soldered into the board, near the power cable/etc.  If you do not feel comfortable doing that, then you should have a repair shop take a look at it.  It might be a cheaper fix than you think.

well, at this point, it could be multiple things.  If you look at the boards, and wires, make sure that there isn't anything shorting out, or burned, etc.

As far as if it's worth fixing, that depends on whether or not you wanted a new tv, just kidding....

Rolling lines on screen

Sounds like the power supply has a bad capacitor. This problem can inject excessive 60 hz from the AC line into the vertical stabilizing picture system. The hum also my come from the same reason, bad or leaking filter capacitors. Cheaper just to buy a new TV or borrow another TV and connected to your system to see if the problem still occurs.

NO COLOR IN MY RCA F36668 TV

Could be a bad TV or it could be loose TV connections feeding to the back of the TV. Any poor or loose connections in the cable leads causes a loss of signal strength to the TV.
Old cables and connection supplying TV Cable to the house or apartment can cause this problem also.

TV turns on & off by itself. Channels also change by themselves.

Make sure your remote is totally away from the set.
Make sure the buttons on the set are not sticky
If both of those are ok, it's your E-Prom in the set. RCA's are notorious for this, not a major repair, maybe $75-100. The 8 leg e-rom is only about $6.00
