SOURCE: when i clean up the toner tank and put a new toner

If the cartridges are not empty ..you do not have to change them ...just shake them well from time to time ..and clean the developer and the print head..so that they will function proper..
Only when the printer shows low ink ..you have to change them ...or if they are still full ..just reset the printer to reset the ink counter ..
If the reset is not specified in the manual ..try this..but only in case the other would not work ..
"To reset the nvram (this holds the control panel settings..."

Need to know the exact model of Xerox you have to let you know one way or the other. You could also try calling Xerox technical support if you like. You should have limited access to the control panel menus as they cannot all be locked out, just critical system areas. Before resetting NVRAM, print the Configuration Sheet if possible, to obtain a record of the printer's settings. 1. To reset the NVRAM (this holds the control panel settings), turn off the printer. 2. Press and hold the On Line (0) and Enter (4) buttons, and turn on the printer. Keep the On Line (0) and Enter (4) buttons depressed until the message "Initializing...Please Wait" appears on display (this takes about one minute). 3. Release the On Line (0) and Enter (4) buttons and wait for the front panel to display "Ready." This takes about 45 seconds. 4. Press the Menu Up (1) button until the Reset Menu is displayed. 5. Press the Item Up (2) button until Factory Defaults is displayed. 6. Press the Value Up (3) button to display the choices. To actually reset the factory defaults you would select "Yes." Best of luck.

What is the life of a Xerox 6505 toner cartridge

The life of a toner cartridge is governed by how much printing it does.
As an example: the average full toner cartridge was expect to yeald approximately 10.000, A3 prints of approxamatly 5% coverage.
That equates to your average business letter :=
Dear Sir, blah, blah, blah ... Yours sincerely.
If you want to print construction plans and black and white drawings expect to get less prints than you expected.
On average they don't do too badly, but if you want to print advertising flyers expect less if there in full colour with bleed.
If you print 4 colour black then don't expect not to use the C,M & Y that also gets used up at a similar rate.
Good luck.

Checking the toner cartridge
Image formation defects are many times the result of problems in the toner cartridge. If there is any doubt, always replace the toner cartridge before troubleshooting image defects.
Use the following checklist to make sure that the toner cartridge is still operable.
" Make sure that the toner cartridge is seated properly.
" Inspect the toner cartridge for toner level.
" Check the expiration date stamped on the toner cartridge box.
" Check the toner cartridge to see if it has been disassembled or refilled.
" Inspect the toner cartridge to see if toner is leaking through worn seals.
" Check the surface of the photosensitive drum in the cartridge to see if it has been damaged or scratched. Touching the drum contaminates the photosensitive surface and can cause spotting
and image defects.
" Blurred areas on printed pages indicate that the photosensitive drum in the cartridge has been overexposed to light. Because overexposure to light causes permanent damage to the photosensitive drum, the cartridge should be replaced.
Note A toner cartridge weighs approximately 863 grams (30.5 oz) when it is full, approximately 766 grams (27.0 oz) when it first fades, and approximately 742 grams (26.2 oz) when it is empty.

To redistribute toner in the cartridge

Before installing a new cartridge or when toner begins to run low, redistribute the toner by rotating the cartridge back and forth five or six times.

Hl3040cn prints a black stripe down the page despite the drum being cleaned as advised by Brother.Peter

Hi

3 issues might be the problem.

1. The toner waste compartment is full. You need to clean the toner waste compartment located in the cartridge itself.

2. Roller drum inside the cartridge have lines normally starts on both ends of the drum. This due to bulky printing. Check and replace this parts inside the toner cartridge. Manual cleaning is not advisable because the result will still the same. If you have only toner cartridge, use the roller drum and replace in place of it.

3. Faulty Toner Cartridge that cause leaking the toner powder. If you purchase remanufactured toner cartridge or you refill the toner cartridge. It tends to worn out the parts. Normally starts as roller drum and follows with the other parts. Replace new original Toner Cartridge. When you refill the toner cartridge, you need to clean the waste compartment as well as it will later be full and overflow.

Please rate and make a comment if you find this solution very helpful and might help others as well. Post more comments if you need more help.

I have a C252. The last 2 days is asks for Cyan toner although its got a full toner cartridge in. It now also starts to ask for yellow and the same apply. The yellow cartridge is still full. When switching...

Your description first looks like you refilled the toner cartridges, if so you need to replace the toner chips. Secondly, for running straight to waste tank, it could be due to the run out chips or the toner quality isn't the best. So get the toner chips first, and if the toner still runs to waste ensure you get a genuine Konica Minolta toner. Because you could run into more problems with a bad toner.

Smasung ML2510 Laser print quality poor especially on graphics

Full isn't always the answer, in order to refill a cartridge properly you need to also replace the cleaning blade inside. The blade wears out and doesn't clean the drum properly and also lets toner leak all over. Your best bet is a new OEM cartridge, or put a new cleaning and Dr. blade in yours.

Is there a override function to keep printing when toner alerts are on?Wondering since black still shows 30%.

These printers will still print when any or all of the toners are LOW, but if any one of them is EMPTY (according to the chip on the toner cartridge) printing stops.

Standard capacity toners ere 2000 page for the colours, and 3000 page for the black, so they can soon be used up.

Much cheaper per page printed, if you use the high capacity cartridges (6000 page for the colours, and 8000 page black).

There are high quality remanufactured cartridges available now, as good as OEM, and typically you'll get a Hi Capacity Remanufactured cartridge for the same sort of price as a Std Capacity OEM cartridge.

As a short term solution at a lower cost than replacement cartridges, you could just replace the cartridge CHIP. The printer would then think the toner was full (there'll likely to still be some toner in it), so you'll be able to print. Don't run the printer like this for ever though, as the toner has some lubricant properties, and with a TRULY EMPTY cartridge, you'll eventually do some damage to the cartridge, and then possibly the transfer belt (and you don't want to be changing that until it's rated 100,000 page life is up.

Not printing..

The symbol on top that looks like a beaker full of marbles is the symbol for the toner cartridge (notice the same symbol is found on the button that opens the toner cartridge door). If this light is on, either the toner cartridge is getting low, or the cartridge needs replaced.

Copier won't print after refilling toner cartridge

As far as I know, filling up with toner is not enough. There is an electronic chip that must also be replaced, so the toner cartridge tells the unit it is a new one. Check with your supplier for such chip.
